1.0 Purpose The following document is Ceragon networks’ Validation and Acceptance Test Plan for the evaluation tests of Ceragon Networks FibeAir1500/1528 SDH Microwave link and its versatile network solutions. This document describes the proposed test procedures for the FibeAir1500/1528 product in 1+0 and 1+1 configurations with the different interfaces configurations. The document will include descriptions of the set-ups and procedures required to verify the products functionality according to its specs and to verify interoperability with other transmission equipment. 2.0 General Test Summary Tests described in this section will be divided to 2 categories:
1. FibeAir1500/1528 1+0 Tests RF tests, SDH tests, Network management tests, Fast Ethernet tests and E3 tests
2. FibeAir1500/1528 1+1 Tests 3.0 FibeAir Overview Providing high-capacity connectivity from 45 to 622 Mbps, Ceragon's FibeAir™ product family offers service providers the capacity and reliability of fiber without the high cost and time required to lay lines. Ceragon's FibeAir systems operate across multiple frequencies from 7.5 to 38 GHz while supporting IP, SONET/SDH and ATM network protocols and complying with North American and international standards. The IDU provides interfaces for 155 Mb/s SONET/SDH/ATM main channel, 2Mb/s Wayside channel, 64Kb/s User channel and 64 Kb/s Order Wire channel. The 155 Mb/s channel can be replaced by 2 x 100 BaseT (Fast Ethernet), 3 x E3/DS3 or a combination of 1 x 100 BaseT and 1 x E3/DS3 interfaces. The IDU multiplexes the different interfaces signals into 155 Mb/s SDH signal, transmitted over the air. The IDU modulates the 155 Mb/s payload, converts it to 350 MHz IF signal and transmits it to the ODU. In the opposite direction, IDU receives 140 MHz IF signal from the ODU, demodulates it and transmits it to the line output.
