Mr. Hill:

I telephoned Mr. An.drew Schoch about peony rootG and he

just called rae back to say they have only 100 left that would be

all rJgh~ for ohipInent, and price on these would be 20¢ each. ./ . -

_~ bave plenty of o~, but they are too far adVanced and

wou d not stand shipping and be satisfactory in every way . How-.;

ever, the lot of ~OO in first-class and ure the same as Schoch

has been having on sale at price of 35¢ each.

He mentioned there · is another party that has plenty to

fill an order for 500 roots, but the price would be $1.00 each~

I underotood you to say you could obtain about 500 at

the market at price of 50~ each~ so I presume the $1.00 price ,

would not be considered.

I promi~ed to advise Ur. S~ s_o~m ao possible -. \~1ether we would take the lot 100 at 20¢ each.

Chairman of the Board

120 Broadway William H. Williams

New York, N. Y. June 2, 1925.

Dear Mr. Hill:

Mr . Albert E. Cluett, member of the firm of Cluett, Peabody & Company, operating the largest establishment for the manufacture of shirts, collar s, etc., and located at Troy, New York, is contemplating making his first trip to the Pacific Coast and Alaska, accompanied by his wife and two sons. Mr. Cluett was in the United states Fuel Administration during the War and was of very material help to all of us at that time and in many ways has placed us under indebtedness.

Mr. Cluett and pl.rty are go :!.ng West via the Canadian Pacific and, after a sojourn in Alaska, are plamning to leave Portland, Oregon. at 8:00 P. M., Tuesday, August 11th, via the Great Northern for Glacier Park, 't,vhere they will stop about a week, leaving at midnight on the 19th for Billings, and from which point they will entrain for Yellowstone ,Park.

Mr. Cluett is inquiring of' me whether it would be asking too much to suggest to your people the propriety of giving him a letter of introduction which would reasonably assure himself and family of comfortable accomodations. He is planning to make his Pullman neservations on the Great Northern while at Vancouver and bef'ore sailing f'or Alaska, but it may be that you would pref'er to have someone f'rom one of your local Eastern passenger agencies commwlicate with him direct bef'ore he starts on his trip.

Neither Mx'. Cluett nor myself would care to ask anything which is not in keeping with your established rules, and I am passing his request on to you with the assurance that vre can vouch for Mr. Cluett in every way and in the belief' that one having the extensive business connections of' Mr. Cluett is likely to have influence on the route selected by those associated with him.

Needless to say, I shall gladly reciprocate at any time insofar as our Delavlar e and Hudson hotels are concerned, or in connection ,vith any trip any of your f'riends may wish to take over the Missouri Pacific System, the Wabash or The Denver and Rio nrande Western.
