KAS SeriesCascade

The 5-line cascadeable system distributes up to 4 SAT-IF polarisations and the complete terrestrialfrequencies to multiple subscribers.

In case of high signal-level from the LNC and short distance from the dish to the multiswitch, a mul-tiswitch with power supply (KAS 5x6/8 K) can be used as head component. Due to the low through-loss and the low distribution loss small systems mostly work without any additional amplifi er.

The SAT-IF in-and outputs are DC-coupled. Out of this reason the multiswitch wich supplies the LNC can be installed at any place within the system. This opens up a variety of system confi gurations. The level can be increased within the trunk line by using a line am-plifi er. There is a permanent supply of the terrestrial signal even when all receivers are switched off.

POSITION INDICATOR SWITCH

The position indicator switch makes easier the installation of the device verifyingthe compatibility of the receiver with the multiswitch. Normally a receiver with DiSEqC carries the installation of 4 LNCs, this 4 LNCs usually correspond to fourdifferent satellites with their four corresponding bands. The eight first inputs of the multiswitch can be controlled by the means of Toneburst protocol analogicalsignal, the next 8 inputs can only be programmed by the means of DiSEqC.In order to verify the compatibility and make a correct installation we must followthe following steps:

1.- The system must be fed by and connected to LNCs.

2.- The satellite receiver must be connected to the output “Out 2” of the mul-tiswitch and it is advisable to connect a Tv to the receiver in order to verify the correct running of the system.

3.- The switch must be in “Mode 1”.

4.- If the receiver has DiSEqC, it will recognize the 4 LNCS by the means of DiSEqC command.

5.- In the display that the multiswitch incorporates it could be verified that the tuned band in the receiver corresponds to a fixed input, since it shows all the time the satellite input that the receiver is communicating to.

6.- Once the installation is finished, we must put the switch in the “Off” position.

This helping system in the installation allows the installer to identify in each cascade multiswitch all the cablesthat are in the input. It provides the correct position of the cable that we want to connect at any time, by the means of the display of the multiswtich. In order to make a correct use of this system you must follow the following steps:

1.- Verify the status of the power supply’s led of the headend cascade multiswitch. If the light of the LED is fix, the device is running correctly, if on the contrary it is flicking or the LED is off, it indicates that there is a short-circuit or that the feeding of the device is overloaded.

2.- Connect it to the headend cascade multiswitch output.

3.- Turn the small switch of the indicator of position to the position “Mode 2”.

4.- Try to connect the main cables that come from the headend one by one tothe multiswitch terrestrial signal input. The moment when a “0” appears in the display, it will show the terrestrial signal cable.

5.- Once the terrestrial signal cable is correctly connected, we have to select another downlink and connectit in the first multiswitch satellite input. The display will show which the correct input of the cable is.

6.- Repeating the last instruction until we have all the satellite signal cable connected. If during the process of installation, when connecting a cable the position of the display got erased, keep this cable aside and connect it once the remaining cables are fixed in their correct position.

7.- The process for installing the resting multiswitches of the installation is the same.

8.- In the case where we have to install a cascade line amplifier, it has to be placed just before the input or justafter the output, depending on the function (pre or post amplifier). Each single path of the amplifier allows thedirect current to go through, from the input to the output.

9.- The small connection cables between the amplifier and the multiswitch can not be crossed.

10.- If the display shows a mark after having fixed it correctly, it is possible that one of the cables has a short-circuit.

11.- In the last cascade multiswitch, the main outputs have to be ended with charges of 75 Ohms. If at the moment when the endings are connected a “0” appears, it will be necessary to check this output because it ispossible that it has a short-circuit.

12.- After completing the installation, we must fix all the switches of the multiswitch in the “Off” position.

ANKARO UnicableTM multiswitches connect up to 8 receivers to one output. This technology uses Satellite Channel Routers (SCR) wich convert the LNB-signals selectively into 4 or 8 (depending on the model) new SAT-IF frequencies. These fre-quencies are combined in the multiswitch to a new SAT-IF band.

Each receiver must be linked to one SAT-IF band. To support the UnicableTM Technology these recei-vers must provide the extended DiSEqC standard. (EN 5094). Even old terrestrial systems or CATV systems can be changed to SAT reception, provi-ded that the cables are suitable.

ANKARO Conditional Access System ANCASY assigns specific IF-bands individually to each subscriber.Each subscriber is charged according to his individual SAT-IF demand by the provider. ANCASY IF-distribution systems open new business fields and market concepts.

ANCASY IF-distribution systems are to be planned and installed as common systems with multiswitches.However, the multiswitches have to be interconnected additionally with a twisted-pair data-cable with RJ45connectors to transfer the subscriber data (e.g. switch on/off SAT-IF bands) to the multiswitches.

The system provider can easily control and collect all system data by GSM short message service (SMS)from for distance.

One SMS transfers the data of one multiswitch with max.16 SAT-IF inputs and max. 32 subscriber outputs.One control-module can manage maximum16 multiswitches with 512 subscriber outputs.

Security System

The CEW 1884 provides the possibility to show the camera-view in a consecutive switching ofapproximately 5 seconds. For that all connected cameras have to be tuned to the same RF-channel. A TV-set which is tuned to the designated RF-channels serves as monitor.The CEW 1884detects the number of connected cameras and adopts the consecutive switching. Thereby no gapsoccur in case less than 4 cameras are connected. The CEW 1884 can likewise transfer thecamera signals continously. Therefore the 4 cameras must be tuned to 4 different RF channels.A gap of one to two channels should be provided to prevent disturbances. The sound will besupplied as well.
