General Assembly
General Assembly
of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United
States and CanadaMeets every two years in a different location.
It’s a world of laughter
and a world of tears;
It’s a world of hopes
and a world of fears;
There’s so much that we share
That its time we’re aware
It’s a small world after all.
Lord, you have blessed us with so many gifts. Unfortunately, we often use your blessings as a way to
categorize and divide. Help us to realize that our differences are blessings. Help us to remember that our divisions are of human origin. Help us to remember that
we are one body in one Lord as we share, learn and grow closer to each other. Amen.

*Hearing a friend tell jokes about another culture.
* Someone complaining about the way another cultures food “stinks” in a shared church building.
* A blond, straight-haired, blue-eyed friend looking for someone to do her hair in cornrows.
* Responding to the comment, “Oh, I know about and try out other cultures every time I go to the mall
food court. I eat a little bit of Mexican, some Chinese and some soul food.”

All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself
through Christ, and has given us the ministry of
reconciliation.
How can our Church confront racism?
