GENEO CASE STUDIES

This company operate over 9 sites across the world. Their central improvement team approached GENEO to

define and promote the One Best Way for developing Standardised Work across the group. In conjunction with

using the GENEO Application, GENEO have been able to help them write and share best practice, between the UK,

Sweden, China, South Africa and Ireland.

Of the particular challenges we had to overcome, the most significant was the optimising of the application for

low bandwidth, remote locations. Standardisation of critical processes across 3 sites has led to significant gains.

Next Steps: TPM and Risk Assessment modules within the application

This company has a unique operational challenge in producing new models every six months with significant

complexity in optional build. Tracking tools and parts on their Standardised Work is essential but, most

significantly, simplification of the rebalancing process in assembly is the key driver.

GENEO has worked very closely with them to deliver the bespoke features they need, including a number of

product design improvements to deliver the powerful functions required whilst maintaining the user friendly

interface that is our product. Following successful trials, and training, GENEO’s Legacy Standards Team are

currently fully engaged in entering existing Standards into the GENEO Application for rebalancing purposes.

This company was GENEOs first commercial customer, and had undergone a Lean transformation but were

struggling to sustain the improvements made. GENEO’s application enabled them to standardise the method of

writing standards and tracking competencies of the workforce.

Many of their standards would be written in English whilst the workforce was predominantly Spanish. With our

translation function we were also able help by providing simultaneous translation of all their standardised work.

Through the introduction of GENEO’s application, overtime was reduced by 80%.
