1 Empowering women and fully leveraging their skills and leadership in the global economy, in politics and in society are essential to maximizing both an organization’s and a nation’s competitiveness, since diverse leadership is more likely to find innovative solutions to today’s complex problems. Yet, despite educational improvements and increased women’s representation at work, challenges still remain in women’s access to leadership roles and in public life. The causes for the under representation of women in decision- making processes and positions are multiple, complex, and call for a comprehensive approach to tackle the problem. They stem from traditional gender roles and stereotypes, the lack of support for women and men to balance care responsibilities with work and the prevalent political and corporate cultures. In this program our facilitator will guide you through the sea of information to enable you to think beyond the present and foresee higher representation of women and more profitable organization.

To ensure that you gain maximum benefit from this event, a detailed questionnaire will be sent to you to establish your training needs. The completed forms will be analyzed by the course facilitator. As a result, we ensure the course is delivered at an appropriate level and that relevant issues will be addressed. The comprehensive course material will enable you to digest the subject matter in your own time. This training course is designed specifically for participants to work through a dedicated strategic planning process while developing their own leadership effectiveness. This three-day masterclass will kick off by examining the current state of play for women in leadership and the challenges of creating truly diverse and inclusive workplaces. We will explore what's working, what's not and what's stifling progress. We will introduce the 'outside in, inside out' approach to sustainable and systemic change that will provide the framework for the content and conversation for the following three days.

Authentic Leadership for Women: Bringing Your Whole Self To Work

Women bring a host of valuable strengths to leadership that are often not valued as highly as those of men. In this session we will explore the doubt-bind for female leaders, key feminine leadership strengths and why women don't need to be more like men but more fully themselves.

Many factors contribute to the 'leaky pipeline' in organisations which cut across the individual, organisational and societal levels, all impacting each other. We will visit a leading international organisation and learn what it is doing to attract, support and nurture female talent while fostering a culture of inclusions and gender diversity. During the morning we will discuss key learning, how they are relevant for our own respective leadership, teams and organisations.This site visit will include conversations with internal leaders in HR, DI and LD and Business Strategy and ample opportunity for Q&A.

Based on the morning's discussion points, we will examine 'best practice' ways to foster a culture of greater inclusion given how profoundly organisational culture can impact behaviour and decision making. We will explore what can be done to combat a culture that works against inclusion. Discussion will use appreciative enquiry to look at the 4 D's of system change – discovering, dreaming, designing and deploying – to explore how the wider culture in which our organisations are operating and how we can work at the micro level to combat resistance and affect cultural change.
