My name is Gence Emek and I’m 26 years old. I’m heavily involved in technology start-ups in London. I consider myself an entrepreneur, writer and explorer. Not just exploring new cities or countries but ideas and opinions. Something that I’m passionate about is the power of storytelling and the way it can be used to convey meaning through digital technology.

I love working on different projects across a number of sectors where tech is important. Currently I’m helping to build digital businesses that improve productivity in the workplace or enhance connectivity through peer-to-peer networks.

What I like to do

After building a fin-tech start-up whilst studying at the London School of Economics I learned a good team is essential to success. A good team needs a complete tool-box made-up of a group’s d i ve r se r e pe r t o i re o f sk i l l s and experiences. Having an expert in finance, a software geek and a driving force (me) combined to make one unit meant we were able to raise funds and sign up users i n u n d e r 9 m o n t h s . H o w e v e r, a professional and structured approach is also important right from the outset (if you want to avoid heartache!).
