RAINWATER HARVESTING

Rainwater harvestingtechnologies are simple to install andoperate. Local people can be easily trained to implement

such technologies, and construction materials are also

readily available. Rainwater harvesting is convenient in the

sense that it provides water at the point of consumption, and

family members have full control of their own systems, which

greatly reduces operation and maintenance problems.

*amarines ur has been widely known and visited by water

sports enthusiasts all around the world. )omestic tourist arrivals was

also established in the province with a total of +,--, /+ tourists, and 0-1, 123 foreign tourists. *elebrities inclined to

watersports like Aga 4uhlach, 5ericho 6osales and others has been

known to visit *amsur for the past years. )ue to the huge amount oftourist arrivals, the province has provided more lodging houses, hotels, inns, and the like. $he hospitality industry in *amarines ur has been

motivated to hire locals to provide more jobs that will help boost their

economy as a whole.

$he problem calls for a design of a resort hotel environment that aimsto provide lodging, recreation, and ecotourism spot in *amarines ur.

$he commercial facility is geared towards becoming a

sustainable development that will provide additional jobs for *amarinesur locals while providing good service for the tourists of the province.

$he proponent seeks to deal e7ectively on the lack of hotel and

accommodations in *amarines ur due to the increased number oftourists coming in the &rovince.

DESIGN OBJECTIVES   $he researcher came up with a proposed project that will take

resorts into an advanced level of planning, a combination of

resort, hotel, and arti%cial sur%ng lagoon that will contribute tothe tourism in *amarines ur. $he proponent decided to improvethe site by building a watersport resort hotel facility. $he studydesires to create a commercial establishment that will supportthe sprawling tourism needs of *amarines ur that seeks to deale7ectively with the desire to provide a commercial facility. $heproponent will also identify the approaches of green designstrategy through conducting a case study of local projects andread online articles and books on international projects. ome

speci%c objectives are as follows>

$o know the design factors need to consider in developing aresort hotel with water sport facility that will supplement thetourism of *amarines ur

$o determine the problems encountered in hotels by tourists in*amarines ur

$o know the architectural design strategies that can help to

IV.1.3 Design Cone!"

CONCEPT# BOAT

A boat is a watercraft of any size

designed to float or plane, to work or

travel on water. Small boats are

typically found on inland (lakes) or in

 protected coastal areas.

The researcher chose this concept

because of its site location asacao

which comes from the word

!asangkay! as the origin of the town"s

name. The travelers and traders often

used it en route to #anila to ask

owners of the sailboats along the shore

of the village to letthem ride.

asangkay means the re$uest of the

people to get into the boat to travel. The thesis proponent thinks this

concept suits the proposed facility on
