1. Overview Geberit Commander™ software allows tool-free faucet control for the Chicago Faucets Galileo 650 and 680 Series electronic faucets. Geberit Commander’s quick and easy infrared control makes troubleshooting, maintenance and operational changes easy. The patented Geberit Commander™ system uses wireless technology to communicate with the faucet to provide:

• Error diagnosis • Maintenance scheduling • Faucet history • Current faucet status • Battery information • Ability to change faucet modes and ranges • Ability to increase or decrease delay times • Troubleshooting help • On hand Parts List and Contact Information

1.1 Geberit Infrared Embedded Intelligence The Geberit Infrared embedded intelligence in the faucet controls the faucet and makes it works. Geberit Infrared delivers advanced I.R. features and trouble-free electronic water control of all types, shapes and sizes in almost any environment. This new cutting-edge technology not only delivers advanced features such as digital reflection filtering and adjustable power output range, but also provides two-way interaction between Chicago Faucets Infrared-enabled appliances and the Palm-based hand-held Geberit Commander.

2. Getting Started NOTE: Do not attempt to use Geberit Commander on the Palm computer under the faucet. The water could come on if you are too close to the

faucet. This will damage the Palm and void your Palm warranties. Turn the Palm on to access the Geberit Commander icon. If you do not see the icon, tap the Applications icon until you see the Geberit Commander icon or tap the triangle in the top right corner of the screen to display the pick list. Select ALL from the pick list at top right. Tap the Geberit Commander icon shown in Figure 1.

2.2 Communication Distance Requirements The Get Faucet Data or Adjust Faucet functions work from 9-24 inches away from the faucet sensor. Fresh or charged batteries in the Palm computer optimize the communication distance.

3.0 Geberit Commander Main Menu NOTE: Do not attempt to begin using Geberit Commander with the Palm under the faucet. The water could come on if you are too close to the

faucet. This will damage the Palm computer and void your Palm computer warranties. The three icons on the Geberit Commander main menu, shown in Figure 3, function as follows:

Scan Geberit Fitting retrieves and stores faucet and/or flush valve data. View Your Palm Scans provides all previously scanned faucet and/or flush valve data without having to scan the fitting.

View General Information  allows access to six different information areas for a desired product without having to scan the fitting. These areas include: 1) Review Galileo Palm

Scans, 2) Contact Geberit, 3) Galileo Accessories, 4) Replacement Parts, 5) Troubleshooting and 6) Help Quit allows the user to exit theGeberit Commander Application

Figure 3 – Geberit Commander Main Menu

4.0 Scan Geberit Fitting Tapping the Scan Geberit Fitting button on the main menu initiates the data retrieval process from the faucet. The user is being notified that the scanning is in process by displaying the following scanning message (figure 4a).

Figure 4a - Scanning in processIf no fitting is seen in 10 sec, the Commander will time out, prompting the user to try again (figure 4b). Adjusting the distance and angle to the faucet can provide a better chance of a complete successful scan.

4.1 Get Faucet Data Tapping the Scan Geberit Fitting button on the main menu retrieves all the information about the faucet you select and saves all that information to the Palm automatically. The faucet data can also be reviewed and edited. To review faucet data on a specific faucet, point the Palm at the faucet sensor then tap the Fitting History button on the main menu. The Get Data menu displays the faucet data as shown in Figure 4c.

Figure 4c – Get Data Menu

4.2 Fitting History By tapping the Fitting History button from Get Data Screen, user will enter Review Data Screen and will be viewing the detailed information of the fitting that was scanned last. Review Data screen is shown in Figure 4d. Each of the tabs in Review Data screen has a number of faucet data as it’s content. The Power tab contains data on the following: Power Level (volts) and Current Error Status. The Settings tab contains data showing the Operating Mode, Range Setting, Range Offset, Delay Setting, Palm Settings Used and Manual Setting Used.

Page 5: Geberit Commander 3.x User Guide Galileo Final

The Time tab includes the Date Stamp of the scan, the Time Stamp of the scan and the Total on-time for the faucet since it was powered up or reset.

The Usage tab includes the Number Of Uses and Uses Per Day.

Figure 4d – Faucet History (Review Data Screen) Tapping the Help button provides additional information about how to use Commander Software. Tapping the Note button will display any notes related to the fitting viewed (note could be only viewed and not edited – for edit use Edit Button). Tapping the Search button user can look for data of a known fitting by knowing either serial number or location of the fitting (location of the fitting must be initially entered by the user). Tapping the < > buttons user can scroll to either next lower or higher scan (serial number or time related - depending on user setup serial number or time of scan). Tapping the Back button returns the user to the Get Data Menu or a previous screen. Tapping the Exit button enables the user to the Main Menu. Tapping the Edit button allows the user to edit the Location, Power source (AC or Battery) and a Note for that specific serial number. Please refer to your Palm hand-held User Guide for instructions on how to enter alphanumeric characters. The Location field is limited to 16 alphanumeric characters or spaces. If neither the AC nor Battery boxes are checked, Unknown will display on your Palm in the Power field of that specific faucet’s data. The Note field is limited to 64 alphanumeric characters or spaces. The Edit screen is shown in Figure 4e.

Figure 4e– Edit Unit Information

Tapping the Cancel button will not save any changes to the data and takes you back to the Review Data screen. Tapping the Clear button removes all data from the Location and Note fields. Tapping the Restore button allows you to undo any changes and bring the previously stored data back up. Tap the Save button to save any changes. The information will be seen each time a Get Faucet Data scan is taken on that specific faucet or you are reviewing that specific faucet serial number.

By tapping the set button the specified value is sent to the faucet. Delay time 0-5 sec is the time range that the faucet user must leave detection area before another metered water flow is initiated. (figure 5f).

• Water Saver mode – 5-second maximum on time starting from first hand detection and fast turnoff when hands are removed. Delay time 0-5 sec is the time range that the faucet user must leave detection area before another metered water flow is initiated. (figure 5g).
