AS GLOBAL DATA Systems enters its 28th year in business, the company marks new milestones and innovations for the future of technology solutions. In 2012, GDS began a two-year transition from a product-centric company to a company balanced in delivering hybrid premise hardware solutions and creating and delivering managed telecommunications and technology solutions. With that transition comes a new corporate headquarters in Lafayette (opening April 2015), along with a new commercial satellite teleport and the state’s only Generation 2 modular data center at Laser Lane in the LEDA Northpark Technology Center. This first-of-its-kind project is a modular hardened facility concept built to withstand everything from manmade explosives to F5 tornadoes and Category 5 hurricanes. The facility is staffed around the clock to accommodate global business hours. Sitting adjacent to the structure is the commercial satellite teleport, where GDS has grown from one dish to three dishes to accommodate clients’ needs for global voice, video, data, fax and radio services in the Western Hemisphere. Coupled with its status as a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC), GDS is one of the first Louisiana-based organizations to bring true facilities-based solutions for telecommunications, data center, cloud and systems integration to its clients—no matter where they are or where they need to operate. GDS has also created new solutions to complement its brand partners, including Cisco and Microsoft, that are designed to address the needs and challenges of the health care, education, government and energy sectors. Going forward, GDS will be focusing on wrapping telecommunications, data center services, voice/video collaboration and managed services to increase efficiency and physical security as a means of meeting the global needs of clients. For its efforts in 2014, GDS was recognized by Cisco for excellence in customer satisfaction and named to CRN magazine’s “Tech Elite 250” list for solution providers in the U.S., as well as the magazine’s “Best Telecommunications Partner Program.” The company was also ranked No. 6 on the “Fast Twenty” for fastest-growing independent satellite communications operators worldwide by the World Teleport Association, No. 48 on the MSPmentor 501 Global Edition of top managed IT service providers in the world (and No. 38 in the 200 North American Edition), No. 5 among the top privately held IT and telecommunications firms in Greater Baton Rouge by Business Report, and No. 5 in Greater New Orleans by CityBusiness. Now creating managed technology solutions that address business challenges like regulatory compliance, collaboration, cost recovery, security and more, GDS can ensure that its clients’ assets, as well as their day-to- day operations, are always on, always in sync and always accessible. “The ability to change ahead of the marketplace and to prepare clients accordingly is what makes Global Data Systems a true world-class organization,” says Chief Marketing Officer Ned Fasullo. “Isn’t it time for your business to ‘get’ GDS?” GLOBAL DATA SYSTEMS, INC.

This first-of-its-kind project is a modular hardened facility concept built

to withstand everything from manmade explosives to F5 tornadoes and Category 5 hurricanes. The facility is staffed around the clock to accommodate global business hours. Sitting adjacent to the structure is the commercial satellite teleport, where GDS has grown from one dish to three dishes to accommodate clients’ needs for global voice, video, data, fax and radio services in the Western Hemisphere.

Coupled with its status as a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC), GDS is one of the first Louisiana-based organizations to bring true facilities-based solutions for telecommunications, data center, cloud and systems integration to its clients—no matter where they are or

where they need to operate.

GDS has also created new solutions to complement

its brand partners, including Cisco and Microsoft, that are designed to address the needs and challenges of the health care, education, government and energy sectors.

6 on the “Fast Twenty” for fastest-growing independent satellite

communications operators worldwide by the World Teleport Association, No.

Now creating managed technology solutions that address business challenges like regulatory compliance, collaboration, cost recovery, security and more, GDS can ensure that its clients’ assets, as well as their day-to-day operations, are always on, always in sync and always accessible.

“The ability to change ahead of the marketplace and to prepare clients accordingly is what makes Global Data Systems a true world-class organization,” says Chief Marketing Officer Ned Fasullo. “Isn’t it time for your business to ‘get’ GDS?”
