But in all seriousness, my biggest motivation are these people (next page)

Introducing Aupaau Tolufale Luatutu and Fa’atoa Luatutu.... my parents. They served as Pastors in the Samoan community and instilled in us the values of serving our communities and our people. My parents have since passed so I feel a sense of responsibility to continue to serve by way of design and creativity by supporting our most vulnerable families within the Samoan community.

‘The pathway to leadership is through service’

This is a proverb which is well known to all Samoans, handed down from generation to generation. This is an exciting opportunity to give back to my community and honour the memory of my parents.

My aim is to build brand awareness for a Samoan Victim Support Group Auckland. SVSG are a non profit organisation who provide support for victims of abuse and trauma. Originally established in Samoa, they have various branches in Australia and up until recently in Auckland.

Blending contemporary and traditional designs to cater to a generic and diverse audience. It is crucial to ensure that this is being integrated somehow to maintain it’sauthencitiy as much as possible.

Typography

This is a promo poster from Paula Scher for the Public Theatre. Great use of layout and bold colours very eye catching

Thought provoking imagery

I like the idea of fusing typogrpahy with thought provoking photography / imagery. This is an example used to display Domestic Violence and bringing some form of awareness to people to let them know that it is something that still exists. Very effective and compelling messaging

The promotion of the SVSG Auckland inaugural launch in November 2014 will consist of various collateral such as Tee shirt and hoodie designs, pull up banners and badges.Stationary collateral is highly important, in profiling SVSG Auckland as an established branch.

You have seen some of the pictures showcasing the stories and lives of some of the victims and this presentation hopefully illustrates a piece of my own story. Together our destination is to raise the profile and brand awareness of SVSG Auckland today in the hope of building a safer, stronger people of tomorrow.
