The results of the GCSE examinations are reported on a 7-point scale of grades: A, B, C. D, E,, F andG. Candidates who fail to reach the minimum standard for G receive no grade. A subject receiving nograde will not be recorded on the certificate. Grades A, B and C maintain the standards of the formerGCE 'O' level gradcs A, B and C and the former CSE grade 1; grades D, E, F and G maintain thestandards of the former CSE grades 2,3,4 and 5.
ENGLISH ORAL COMMUNICATION
Thc assessmcnt of Oral Communication is compulsory for all candidates entered for GCSE English. Itis separatelv assessed and the results are reported on a S-point numbered scale, with grade 1 indicatingthe highest level of attainment and grade 5 the lowest level of attainment.
