Gay Culture
What is gay culture?
No one can give a definite definition on what gay culture is, because of the mixture of all types of cultures that share one same thing that they are attracted to people of their same sex not just physically but emotionally as well.
In the gay culture men are more sexually active when it comes to dating and don't really look at emotions at first.
In the lesbian culture women are more emotional rather than sexual when it comes to dating.
What are the Differencesbetween gay
and lesbians culture?
Are there gender roles in same sex relationships?
In some relationship there are gender roles for example a butch and a fem. A fem is a women who dresses and is really feminine. A butch is a women who dresses and is more masculine. But now in days gender roles in same sex relationships can be either or for example a butch can be fem and a fem can be butch.
Is there discrimination in the gay community?
Discrimination with in the gay community does exist looks, race, and appearance distinguish what crowd you fit in.
As an example of discrimination in the gay community gay men must look, dress, and be certain race in order to attract them towards them.
Is there homophobia in the gay community?
In the gay community the homophobia does exist it is given to them at a young age from the straight communities base on the bible which tells them that its wrong to be gay. They are meant to be straight to breed, and that god hates the gays. For this reasons some gay people have their own internal homophobia for example showing affection in public with their partner.
What has changed over the years in the gay community
The changes that have developed over the years in the gay community are;
The right to adopt a child and start your own family.
More gay rights
Marriage in some states and countries.
How has gay history helped out in the gay community?
Gay history has helped the gay community by encouraging them to accept themselves, so they could stand and fight for their rights and their freedom to express their sexuality, and has given the new generation of the gay community new rights.
What role does religion play in the gay community?
The role of religion in the gay community has no role. In certain religions the majority of the people are taught that gays and lesbians are a sin towards god, because of that the gay community doesn't adopt religious beliefs. Some belief in a higher power and some switch to different religions that doesn't discriminate the gay community.
Gays and Lesbianspassing as straight
In some cases lesbians and gays sometimes pass as a straight person in order to avoid being discriminated.
This choice that is made by some gays and lesbians is sometimes not appreciated by the gay community, because they are lying to themselves.
Family
Families in the gay community are usually made of close friends, blood family, adopted family, and your partner.
In some cases families are made because of late bloomers meaning a women that was married with a man and had a child later turn out to be
a lesbian.
