SEISMIC REFRACTION SURVEYSeismic Refraction measurements find applications in mapping geologic, geotechnical, hydrologic, environmental, mineralexploration, petroleum exploration, and archaeological investigations. The seismic wave velocities are related to themechanical properties of earth. Hence, seismic velocity coupled with complementary geological information (boreholelogs, geological maps, outcrops data, etc) yield vital information on characterization of subsurface material, such as, typeof rock, degree of weathering, elasticity, and rippability.
Applicable Standard
The company follows ASTM StandardDesignation D5777 Guide while usingthe Seismic Refraction Method forSubsurface Investigations.
Bedrock Profile Thickness of Overburden
Identification of Fractures Identification of Weak Zones

SEISMIC CROSSHOLE TESTThe Seismic Cross Hole Test yields detailed measurements of in-situ compressional and shear wave velocities in casedboreholes typically spaced 3 to 6 m apart. The Cross Hole test provides information pertinent to the seismic wavevelocities of the material in question. These velocities are used as input into site specific static / dynamic analyses, or forcomputing Shear Modulus, Young’s Modulus, and Poisson’s Ratio for material characterization, or for determination oflateral heterogeneity existing at site.
Applicable Standard
The company follows ASTM StandardDesignation D4428/D4428M Guide whileusing the Seismic Crosshole Test forSubsurface Investigations.

SEISMIC UPHOLE / DOWNHOLE TESTThis test method is applied for determination of the interval velocities from arrival times and relative arrival times ofcompression (P) and vertically (SV) and horizontally (SH) polarized shear (S) seismic waves which are generated nearsurface and travel down to an array of vertically installed seismic sensors. The method provides accurate in-situ P and Swave velocities essential for use in geotechnical foundation designs. The results are used in analyses of soil behavior inboth static and dynamic loads where elastic constants are input variables into the models defining different states ofdeformations such as elastic, elasto-plastic, and failure. Another use of estimated shear wave velocities in geotechnicaldesign is in liquefaction assessment of soils.
Applicable Standard
The company follows ASTMStandard Designation ASTMD7400-08 Guide while using theSeismic Downhole Test forSubsurface Investigations.

ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY TOMOGRAPHYDC resistivity techniques, sometimes referred to as Electrical Resistivity (ER), Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI) or VerticalElectric Sounding (VES), measure earth resistivity by driving a direct current (DC) signal into the ground and measuring theresulting potentials (voltages) created in the earth. From that data, electrical properties of the earth (the geo-electricsection) can be derived and thereby the geologic properties inferred.
Applicable Standard
The company follows ASTMStandard Designation ASTMD6431-99 Guide while usingthe Electrical Resistivity Methodfor Subsurface Investigations.

GEODETIC SURVEYSThe Company provides the following range of topographic survey services usingDGPS and Total Stations
Boundary Surveys: for marking precise boundary of a project on ground
Route Surveys: for proposed routes of transportation and communication, such as, transmission lines, pipelines and tunnels
Transmission Line Surveys: Detailed survey for LV, HV and EHV Transmission Lines, Route Profiling and Tower Spotting
Land Surveys: for laying off or the measurement of lengths and directions of lines forming the boundaries of land or real property.
Construction Surveys: such as, highway pre-construction, construction and post –construction surveys
Topographic Surveys: for various geological and geophysical exploration surveys such as 2D/3D Seismic surveys, Gravity surveys, etc.
Contour Surveys: for land and water bodies
GROUND PENETRATING RADAR (GPR) SURVEYNear surface investigations using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a non-destructive technique to produce a crosssection profile of subsurface without any drilling, trenching or ground disturbances. The profiles are used for detectingburied utilities, such as, pipes, cables, etc in totally non-destructive manner.
Applicable StandardThe company follows ASTMstandard designation D6432–99 andASCE 38-02 in equipment, fieldprocedures, and interpretationmethods for the assessment ofsubsurface materials while using theGround Penetrating Radar (GPR).
