The2012GardensTheatreSeasonofferssomeofAustralia’sbesttouringdramatomakeyoulaugh,cry,topullatyourheartstringsandtomakeyouponderthehumancondition.Theseasonisfullofrecognisablestories–storiesoflove,loss,longingandjustalittlelust–andkicksoffwithHenriSzeps’stouchingone-manshowWish I’d Said That.Thenontolaughter,rivalryandrenewedunderstandingoffivefeistywomeninBiddies.ThisyearwearedelightedtopresenttwoDavidWilliamsonplays.Let The SunshineisasatiricalcomedysetinNoosaandfeaturingPeterPhelps,whomyoumightrememberfromSons and Daughters.Rhinestone Rex and Miss Monicaisaromanticcomedythatasksiflovecanconqueraseriousclashinmusicaltastes...thisisashownottobemissed!Inthemiddleoftheseasonyou’llfindthegemSyncopation.SetinNewYorkCityin1912,thisstoryofromanceandballroomdancingisplayedouttothefamiliarmelodiesofGershwin,JoplinandBerlin.WrappinguptheseasonisDiving For Pearls,featuringwell-knownfavouriteKevinHarrington
(SeaChange),whichlooksathowordinarypeoplecopewhenthejuggernautofeconomicchangethreatenstheirwayoflife.
Aswellasthisrichseasonofprofessionaltheatre,wehopeyouwillshareinthejourneyofourownstudentartists,bothactorsanddancers,intheirshowcaseseasons.OnceagainQUT’sHeadofActing,DianneEden,willprovideoursubscriberswiththeopportunityofgaininganinsider’sunderstandingofthethrillsandchallengesofactortraining.
TherearealsomajorchangeshappeningatQUT’sGardensPointCampuswitha$230MScienceandEngineeringCentreunderconstructionanddueforcompletionmid2012.ABistrolocatedrightalongsidethetheatreaswellaspublicparkingclosebywillenhanceyourtheatre-goingexperience.

Fiveordinarilymarvellouswomenfindthemselvesaccidentallylockedintheirchildhoodclassroomwithnothingbutingenuity,AdoraCreamWafersandabuckettogetthemthroughthecrisis.Astheydeftlyplytheirneedles,unknownresourcescometothefore.
