These assembly instructions accompany this garden premium cantilever umbrella (referred to only as the “product” below). They contain important information about safety, use and care.Before assembling and using the product, read the assembly

instructions carefully. This particularly applies to the safety instructions. Failure to follow the instructions in these assembly instructions may result in serious injury or damage to the product. Hold onto the assembly instructions for future reference. If you pass the product on to a third party be sure to pass the assembly instructions along with it.

− Use base weights (not included) totalling a minimum of 120 kg to prevent the product from tipping over.

− Make sure that the product is stable and inspect the product before each use. The safety of the product can only be ensured if it has been properly assembled and all connections have been made securely.

NOTICE!

Risk of damage!Improper handling of the product may result in damage to the product.

− Place the product on an easily accessible, level, dry, heat- resistant and sufficiently stable surface. Do not place the product on the edge of the surface.

− Do not place the product near or against any open flames, heaters, furnaces or other hot objects. Keep it away from fire.

− Fold the product down when not in use. If left outdoors for extended periods of time, slip the protective cover over it.

− Close the umbrella, secure the product or store it in a sheltered room during extreme weather conditions, e.g. in strong winds.

− Never attempt to clean the metal parts of the product by immersing it in water and do not use a steam cleaner to clean it. Otherwise the product could be damaged.

− Check the stability of all connections regularly and retighten the bolts. Do not overtighten the bolts as this will add unnecessary stress on the frame.

− Stop using the product if any of its parts exhibit cracks or breaks or are deformed. Only replace damaged parts with corresponding original spare parts.

First useChecking the product and package contents

NOTICE!

Risk of damage!If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a sharp knife or other pointed object, you may quickly damage the product.

− For this reason, be very careful when opening it.

1. Take the individual parts of the product out of the packaging.2. Check to make sure that all parts are included (see the chapter “Contents”).3. Check whether the individual parts of the product exhibit damages. If this is

the case, do not assemble or use the product. Contact the manufacturer via the service address specified on the warranty card.

Basic cleaning1. Remove the packaging material and all protective foils.2. Clean all parts of the product before first use as described in the chapter

“Cleaning and maintenance”.

Selecting suitable base weights (not included)Base weights 24 are required for the safe use of the product. They are not included in the contents, but can be purchased separately. Four base weights totalling a minimum of 120 kg are required. Follow the instructions included with the base weights to assemble them to the product.Take note of the below specifications when choosing suitable base weights for the product:

• When open, the umbrella 9 covers an area of approximately 3.4 m by 3 m. • The height of the product is about 2.6 m.

− Only use the product with sufficient weight on the base (minimum 120 kg, not included). The product could tip over and cause serious injury to bystanders.

NOTICE!

− Assemble the product on a soft and clean surface. Place a blanket under the product to avoid scratching or damaging the surfaces.

− Carefully follow all instructions when assembling the product.

Assembly steps Assemble the product following the instructions and illustrations below.

• At least two competent persons should assemble the product to make assembly easier and avoid injury.

• Begin the assembly of the product close to the intended use location. The product is heavy and may be difficult to move after assembly.

• The enclosed hex keys 22 / 23 are required for the assembly.

1 Separating the support pole sleeve from the support pole1

− Remove the support pole sleeve 4 by lifting it out of the support pole 3 .

− Press the pedal 10 down and turn the top of the swivel unit 11 one position to the left or to the right. This moves the top set and bottom set of bolt holes apart and allows easy access to insert and tighten bolts.

1. Join the base upper bar 2 and the base lower bar 1 together (see step 1 in Fig. 3).

2. Attach the bottom of the swivel unit 11 to the top of the bars with 4 large bolts 18 and 4 washers 21 using the large hex key 23 (see step 2 in Fig. 3).

3. Attach the support pole 3 to the top of the swivel unit with 4 medium bolts 19 and 4 washers using the large hex key (see step 3 in Fig. 3).

1. Attach the base cover cap 12 to the base cover 13 by pushing the base cover cap onto the base cover (see step 1 in Fig. 4).

2. Slide the assembled base cover down the support pole 3 (see step 2 in Fig. 4). Make sure the notch in the base cover is aligned with the pedal 10 . If necessary, adjust the top of the swivel unit 11 . See “Setting up the swivel unit” for details.

3. Carefully place 4 base weights 24 (not included) onto the bars 1 / 2 to prevent the product from tipping over (see step 3 in Fig. 4)

− Slide the support pole sleeve 4 back onto the support pole 3 . Make sure the screw hole on the pole sleeve and on the support pole are aligned together.

1. Attach the umbrella pole 5 to the support pole 3 with the small bolt 20 using the small hex key 22 (see step 1 in Fig. 7).

2. Undo the hook and loop fastener 8 around the umbrella 9 (see step 2 in Fig. 7).

2. Slide the umbrella handle up a little to tilt the umbrella 9 and reveal the side of the umbrella handle (see step 2 in Fig. 8).

1. Align the hole in the crank handle 14 with the tab in the umbrella handle 7 . 2. Push in to connect the handles together. Make sure the tab of the umbrella

handle fits into the hole in the crank handle (see step 1 and step 2 in Fig. 9). Assembly is complete.

− To detach the crank handle, use a suitable tool to push the tab of the umbrella handle in and pull the crank handle out (see step 3 in Fig. 9).

1. Wind the crank handle 14 clockwise to fully extend the umbrella 9 (see step 1 in Fig. 10).

2. Pull the trigger to unlock the umbrella handle 7 and slide it up to set the umbrella at the desired height (see step 2 in Fig. 10).

1. Unfold the collapsible rod 15 and slide the ends of each section into each other to assemble the rod (see step 1 in Fig. 17).

2. Feed the assembled rod through the hole in the protective cover 16 and run the rod to the top of the protective cover, so that it is held up by the rod (see step 2 in Fig. 17).

− Do not use any aggressive cleaners, brushes with metal or nylon bristles or sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as knives, hard scrapers and the like. They could damage the surfaces.

Cleaning the umbrella and protective cover1. Use a damp cloth to wipe off the umbrella 9 and the protective cover 16 .2. A mild cleaning solution can be used for persistent stains or stubborn dirt,

if necessary. Do not use bleach or oxidising detergent.

3. Let the umbrella and the protective cover dry completely after cleaning.

Cleaning the rest of the product1. Use a damp cloth to wipe off the rest of the product.2. A mild cleaning solution can be applied for stubborn dirt, if necessary.3. Let all parts dry completely.

Maintenance and care − Keep the product out of bad weather as much as possible. − Regularly check that all bolt connections are tight and re-tighten if necessary.

Loose bolt connections may impair safety. There is a risk of injury.

Risk of damage!Storing the product in a damp area will allow rust to form on bolts. This may permanently and irreparably damage the functionality of the product.

− Avoid dust, water, moisture, frost, extreme temperature and high humidity.

− Cover the product with a waterproof cover when heavy or persistent rain or snow is forecast. However, make sure there is good ventilation around the product even if it is covered.

Box Sort the packaging before you dispose of it. Dispose of paperboard and cardboard with the recycled paper service and wrappings with the appropriate collection service.

− Please ensure your recycling information applies to the local regulations.
