• Using the image of the quilt on page 1 as a guide, cut (1) 33" x 41" rectangle. Cut the rectangle in half vertically and horizontally to yield four 16½" x 20½" rectangles.

Fabric B [26490 N] (blue focal)Outer Border

• Cut (8) 6" x WOF strips. Piece strips together (end to end) using 45° seams. Subcut (2) 6" x 76½" strips. Subcut (2) 6" x 79½" strips.

• Cut (1) 2½" x WOF strip. Subcut (8) 2½" x 4½" rect-angles.

Binding• Cut (9) 2¼" x WOF strips.

SEWING INSTRUCTIONSUse a ¼" seam allowance throughout unless otherwise indicated.

Parallelogram Unit1. Referring to Diagram 1, draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of two 2½" x 2½" Fabric K (white tonal) squares. With right sides together and noting orientation of the diagonal line, place one Fabric K square on the left side of one 2½" x 4½" Fabric C (blue floral) rectangle. Sew on the drawn line. Trim ¼" away from sewn line. Open and press the Fabric K triangle towards the corner. Repeat this step with remaining 2½" x 2½" Fabric K (white tonal) square in the opposite corner of the same Fabric C rectangle to complete Parallelogram Unit. Trim Unit, if needed, to measure 2½" x 4½".Diagram 1

Pinwheel Blocks (make twenty-six)1. Parallelogram Unit. All Parallelogram Units use two Fabric K (white tonal) 2½" x 2½" squares. Following step 1, make a total of four Parallelogram Units using Fabric C (blue floral) rectangles.

2. Pinwheel Unit. Referring to Diagram 2, sew one 2½" x 4½" Fabric K (white tonal) rectangle and one Fabric C (blue floral) Parallelgram Unit together for one Pinwheel Unit. Unit should measure 4½" x 4½". Make a total of four Pinwheel Units.Diagram 2

3. Assemble Block. Referring to Diagram 3, sew two rows of two Parallelgram Units together to make one Pinwheel Block. Block should measure 8½" x 8½".

4. Following Steps 1–4, make four Pinwheel Blocks from each of these fabrics: C (blue floral), D (pink floral), F (blue paisley), G (coral paisley), H (green paisley), and J (pink scroll). Make two Pinwheel Blocks from Fabric L (fuchsia tonal). [twenty-six Pinwheel Blocks are required for Inner Border #4].

Assemble Quilt CenterRefer to the Assembly Diagram on page 5 for the following steps.

1. Lay out the 16½" x 20½" Fabric A (panel print) rectangles, 1½" x 20½" Fabric K (white tonal) strips, and the 1½" x 33½" Fabric K (white tonal) strip.

2. Join the rectangles and 1½" x 20½" Fabric K strips into two rows. Join the rows and the 1½" x 33½" Fabric K strip to complete the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should measure 33½" x 41½”.

Assemble Quilt TopRefer to the Assembly Diagram on page 5 for the following steps.

1. Inner Border #1. Sew one 1½" x 41½" Fabric K (white tonal) strip to each side of the Quilt Center. Sew 1½" x 35½" Fabric K (white tonal) strips to top and bottom of the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should measure 35½" x 43½".

2. Inner Border #2. Sew one 1½" x 43½" Fabric I (blue scroll) strip to each side of the Quilt Center. Sew 1½" x 37½" Fabric I (blue scroll) strips to top and bottom of the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should mea-sure 37½" x 45½".

3. Inner Border #3. Sew one 2" x 45½" Fabric K (white tonal) strip to each side of the Quilt Center. Sew 2" x 40½" Fabric K (white tonal) strips to top and bottom of the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should mea-sure 40½" x 48½".

4. Inner Border #4 (Columns). Arrange and sew together six Pinwheel Blocks to make a column. Column should measure 8½" x 48½". Make a total of two columns. Sew columns to each side of the Quilt Center.

5. Inner Border #4 (Rows). Arrange and sew together seven Pinwheel Blocks to make a row. Row should measure 8½" x 56½. Sew the row to the top and bot-tom of the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should measure 56½" x 64½".

6. Inner Border #5. Sew one 2½" x 64½" Fabric K (white tonal) strip to each side of the Quilt Center. Sew 2½" x 60½" Fabric K (white tonal) strips to the top and bottom of the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should measure 60½" x 68½".

7. Inner Border #6. Sew one 1½" x 68½" Fabric I (blue scroll) strip to each side of the Quilt Center. Sew 1½" x 62½" Fabric I (blue scroll) strips to the top and bot-tom of the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should measure 62½" x 70½".

8. Inner Border #7. Noting orientation of the pieces (directional print), sew 2½" x 70½" Fabric E (blue tree) strips to each side of the Quilt Center. Sew 2½" x 66½" Fabric E (blue tree) strips to the top and bottom of the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should measure 66½" x 74½".

9. Inner Border #8. Sew one 1½" x 74½" Fabric K (white tonal) strip to each side of the Quilt Center. Sew 1½" x 68½" Fabric K (white tonal) strips to the top and bottom of the Quilt Center. Quilt Center should mea-sure 68½" x 76½".

10. Outer Border. Sew one 6" x 76½" Fabric B (blue focal) strip to each side of the Quilt Center. Sew 6" x 79½" Fabric B (blue focal) strips to the top and bottom of the Quilt Center. Quilt Top should measure 79½" x 87½".

FINISHING1. If backing is not already prepared, sew two 96" x WOF Fabric C (blue floral) strips together along the selvage edges with a 1" seam. Trim seam to ½" and press to one side. Trim backing to measure 86" x 96".

2. Place the Quilt Top right side up on the top of the batting and the wrong side of the backing.

3. Baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim the backing and batting even with the quilt top.

4. Sew the nine 2¼" x WOF Fabric E (red butterfly) strips together (end to end) using 45° seams to make a continuous strip. Fold strip in half lengthwise (with wrong sides together) and press. Bind as desired.
