Extension to Partner with CHAMPS For Another Exciting Year of STEM . Club The Extension Office will again be partnering with the Garden County Schools 21st Century Learning Center -

CHAMPS—to offer a once a week program called STEM Club. Every Monday right after school is in session, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathe-matics (STEM) will be an emphasis as youth explore various topics and hands –on activities. This year STEM Club will also add an art component to the les-sons! Lessons will be led by Extension Office staff with the help of school and afterschool staff. Just like last year, we will split the months in order to provide more one on one attention to youth and provide more age appropriate activities. Kindergarten through 2nd grade will start off this year in September and meet again in November, January, and March. Third through 5th grade will meet on Mondays in October, December, February, and April. Sessions will last from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. All youth are invited to attend! This year we will be exploring agriculture, wearable technology, robotics, rockets, and many more exciting adventures within those key areas. If you have any questions about the program, you may contact Carrie Hoagland, director of CHAMPS, at the elemen-tary at 308-772-3336 or Sarah Paisley or Shelly Altena at the Extension Office at 308-772-3311.
