- Brock had not played organized basketball for the last five-plus years. After graduating high school, he joined the military and served from 2012-16, having tours in Afghanistan and Kuwait.

- Brock grew six inches after high school and met head coach Greg Kampe at the Hard-wood Classic in Kuwait at Camp Arfijan, hosted by Feherty's Troops First Foundation. He played for Steve Lavin's squad against Coach Kampe.
