1.)Galileo’s contributions to observational astronomy include the telescopic confirmation of the phase of venues, the discovery of the four largest satellites of Jupiter (named the Galilean moons in his honor), and the observation and analysis of sunspots.

He inventied the telescope in 1609. He created a telescope that could magnify objects twenty times. He also used the telescope to look at the moon.
