Denise Revine stood out in the group of five who went public with theircharges against the force. A woman among men. A public servant amongpolice officers. She was a director in the RCMP's human resourcesdivision in spring 2003 when she was assigned an extensive budget review and discovered how senior RCMP officials were misspending millionsof dollars of members' pension funds and, it later turned out, insurancefunds.

Revine and her supervisor, Chief Supt. Fraser Macaulay, who took up herconcerns, were sent packing as a result. In Feb. 2004, her job was: budgetcuts, a boss explained; humiliating her in public Today, she's copingwith what doctors tell her is post-traumatic stress disorder the kind oflong-term emotional distress soldiers endure after returning home frombattle.

Another was Fraser Macaulay who was punted from the RCMP to theDepartment of National Defense for coming forward. Macaulay, a deep red flush creeping up his neck, couldn't believe what hewas hearing.

Another was Mike Frizzell who shocked the committee with a taperecording of his calm call to an RCMP manager who accused him ofshouting and harassing employees in interviews.

Frizzell was yanked off the Ottawa police probe of the pensionmisspending when he began asking tough questions about the role ofsenior RCMP managers, including deputy commissioner Barbara George.His laptop was wiped and backup copies of data "went missing" from hisdesk.

More female members of the RCMP in British Columbia have come forward withserious allegations of harassment following CBC Newss shocking revelations ofwell-known Mountie spokeswoman Cpl. Catherine Galliford s claims she sufferedfrom years of sexual harassment.

On Monday, CBC News revealed Cpl. Catherine Galliford has filed an internalRCMP complaint alleging repeated sexual harassment from some of her supervisors.

Galliford said she experienced six to 10 incidents of harassment or sexualharassment, including one occasion in which a superior showed her his genitals andasked if a mole on his penis was cute.

Earlier, during the Air India investigation, she said she was dragged along onpointless trips to Eastern Canada to meet with victims families. She said there wasno news to impart, but her superior used the road trips as an opportunity to try to havesex with her.

Following Gallifords explosive allegations, Krista Carle contacted CBC News,breaking her own long silence.

I know for a fact there are at least six women that I know [who] have left the forceor are still in that have suffered harassment, Carle said. Im sure there are otherswho are afraid to come forward for fear of reprisals.



Carle, who graduated from the RCMPs training academy with Galliford in 1991,says she was harassed and sexually assaulted. She is now off the job and says she hasbeen diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

When I spoke out against the harassment, it wasnt taken seriously and I felt

diminished and I felt re-victimized every time I told what happened to me, she said.

Carle is one of four women officers who have sued the RCMP, saying they weresexually assaulted by undercover Sgt. Robert Blundell in the late 1990s.

The women worked for Blundell on undercover investigations in Calgary from 1994to 1997. According to the statement of claim, they were individually and separatelysexually assaulted and harassed by Sgt. Blundell.

The case was eventually settled in 2007 with all parties agreeing to keep the terms ofthe settlement secret.

He was docked three days pay forhaving sex with an underling, and five days pay for trying to kiss another secretaryafter calling her to a private meeting in a headquarters conference room.

An RCMP boss insisted she go along on road trips to visit victims families and thenhed turn into Octopus-Man in a hotel room at night, she said.

Galliford named another female officer who had to physically fight off an attemptedrape by the same officer. Female civilians also were targeted.

Galliford is also haunted by the fact that senior officers appeared to know that now-convicted serial killer Robert Pickton was a prime suspect in the murder ofDowntown Eastside sex workers at his Port Coquitlam pig farm.
