It encompasses the company’s philosophy fordelineating its responsibility as a corporate citizen and lays down the guidelines and

mechanism for undertaking socially useful programmes for welfare & sustainable

development of the community at large, is titled as the ‘GAIL CSR Policy’

FUNDING FOR

CSR ACTIVITIES

For achieving its CSR objectives through implementation of meaningful & sustainable CSR programmes, GAIL will allocate 2% of its previous year’s Profit after Tax (PAT), as its Annual CSR Budget

Budget for the year 2009-2010 – 30 crores

CSR STRATEGY

An amount of Rs. 5 Crores will be earmarked each year, as contribution towards the corpus of the GAIL Charitable and Education Trust, till the corpus reaches a figure of Rs. 50 Crores

10 % of CSR budget will be allocated each year for rendering relief/contribution in the event of natural calamities affecting the communities

3% of the budget will be earmarked towards cumulative expenditure on Need Identification, Impact Assessment Studies as well as towards Sponsorship of CSR events/publications

Contribution for conducting surgical camp, Eye camp, Medical awareness Workshop & HealthCheck-up – Abu road, Rajasthan – Mahavir International – Rs. 10 lakhs

Contribution for mobile health care van for Slums/JJ clusters of Delhi – Smile Foundation – Rs.10.66 lakhs

Contribution for purchase of furniture, fan, other utilities to Navjeevan Care and Support Centre which is looking after HIV +ve people and AIDS prevention - St. Xavier's Seva Foundation (NGO) – Rs. 1 lakh

Contribution for conducting eye camps at Kuthalam, Pondicherry (125 cataract surgeries) – Aravind Eye Hospital – Rs. 3 lakhs

Provision of an ambulance to the Central Prison, Rajahmundry (A.P) in case of medical emergency for the prisoners of Central Prison – Home department, A.P – Rs. 9.28 lakhs

Providing furniture and medical aid to Shanti Sadan, Gandhidham, Gujarat – an asylum for mentallychallenged destitute women - St. Joseph's HospitalTrust – Rs. 7.83 lakhs

Contribution for 30 food distribution vehicles for “Hunger- Free-Campaign – “Aap Ki Rasoi”programme – Delhi govt. – Rs. 12.30 lakhs

Training programme for development and exposure towards skill development/SHGsfor women from backward Socio economic category - Centre for Advance Research & Development – 8 lakhs

Contribution for 15 PCs and braille books to Ramakrishna Mission Blind Boys Academy at R K Mission, Narendrapur , Kolkata - Rs. 2.1 lakhs
