GA-FC Owner’s Manual * 5 1 0 0 0 2 9 0 5 3 - 0 2 * Connecting the foot controller How to operate the foot controller Using the expression pedals By connecting expression pedals (Roland EV-5, BOSS FV-500L, BOSS FV-500H; sold separately), you can change the DRIVE value and volume by pedal. DRIVE jack Use this to control DRIVE. When BOOST is off, the sound can be changed from clean to crunch, and when BOOST is on, changed from clean to super extreme. With an expression pedal connected to the DRIVE jack, the drive value can be controlled from 0 to the current DRIVE value on the panel. When the pedal is pressed fully down, the drive value shown by the panel knob will be applied. VOLUME jack This is for controlling the volume. Volume swell and mute are possible. * The volume that you can control with the expression pedal connected to this jack is different from the [VOLUME] on the panel. The pedal operation is not linked to the [VOLUME] knob level. Drive values that can be controlled with the expression pedals. (Example) Blinks in the FUNCTION mode. You can change channels by using the foot controller. By pressing the [FUNCTION] switch, you can also turn on/off BOOST, MID BOOST, EFX LOOP A, EFX LOOP B, and REVERB. * The ON/OFF operation of BOOST, MID BOOST, EFX LOOP A, EFX LOOP B, and REVERB using the foot controller is not saved in the channel. Connect a stereo cable to the FOOT CONTROL/LINK IN jack of the GA-212/GA-112. * Always use a stereo cable. * Use cables that do not contain resistors. Setting MINIMUM VOLUME of an expression pedal With the [MINIMUM VOLUME] knob of an expression pedal, you can set the value for when the pedal is lifted up all the way (lowest value). DRIVE value settings after changing channel When an expression pedal is connected to the DRIVE jack, you can set the DRIVE value after changing channel to the current pedal value, not the value saved in the channel. To make the setting, see “GA-212/GA-112 Owner’s Manual.“ [MINIMUM VOLUME] knob * Use only the specified expression pedal (Roland EV-5, BOSS FV-500L, BOSS FV-500H; sold separately). By connecting any other expression pedals, you risk causing malfunction and/or damage to the unit. * This instrument is equipped with TRS type jacks. Wiring diagrams for these jacks are shown below. TIP RING SLEEVE (GND) USING THE UNIT SAFELY Before using this unit, carefully read the sections entitled: “USING THE UNIT SAFELY” and “IMPORTANT NOTES”. These sections provide important information concerning the proper operation of the unit. Additionally, in order to feel assured that you have gained a good grasp of every feature provided by your new unit, Owner’s manual should be read in its entirety. The manual should be saved and kept on hand as a convenient reference. Used for instructions intended to alert the user to the risk of injury or material damage should the unit be used improperly. * Material damage refers to damage or other adverse effects caused with respect to the home and all its furnishings, as well to domestic animals or pets. Used for instructions intended to alert the user to the risk of death or severe injury should the unit be used improperly. The symbol alerts the user to things that must be carried out. The specific thing that must be done is indicated by the design contained within the circle. In the case of the symbol at left, it means that the power-cord plug must be unplugged from the outlet. About WARNING and CAUTION Notices About the Symbols ALWAYS OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING WARNING Do not disassemble or modify by yourself Do not open or perform any internal modifications on the unit. Do not repair or replace parts by yourself Do not attempt to repair the unit, or replace parts within it (except when this manual provides specific instructions directing you to do so). Refer all servicing to your retailer, the nearest Roland Service Center, or an authorized Roland distributor, as listed on the “Information” page. Do not use or store in the following types of locations • Subject to temperature extremes (e.g., direct sunlight in an enclosed vehicle, near a heating duct, on top of heat- generating equipment); or are • Damp (e.g., baths, washrooms, on wet floors); or are • Exposed to steam or smoke; or are • Subject to salt exposure; or are • Humid; or are • Exposed to rain; or are • Dusty or sandy; or are • Subject to high levels of vibration and shakiness. Do not place in an unstable location Make sure you always have the unit placed so it is level and sure to remain stable. Never place it on stands that could wobble, or on inclined surfaces. WARNING Don’t allow foreign objects or liquids to enter unit; never place containers with liquid on unit Never allow foreign objects (e.g., flammable objects, coins, wires) or liquids (e.g., water or juice) to enter this product. Doing so may cause short circuits, faulty operation, or other malfunctions. Turn off the unit if an abnormality or malfunction occurs Immediately turn the amplifier off, and request servicing by your retailer, the nearest Roland Service Center, or an authorized Roland distributor, as listed on the “Information” page when: • Objects have fallen into, or liquid has been spilled onto the unit; or • If smoke or unusual odor occurs; or • The unit has been exposed to rain (or otherwise has become wet); or • The unit does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance. Adults must provide supervision in places where children are present When using the unit in locations where children are present, be careful so no mishandling of the unit can take place. An adult should always be on hand to provide supervision and guidance. Do not drop or subject to strong impact Protect the unit from strong impact. (Do not drop it!) CAUTION Manage cables for safety Try to prevent cords and cables from becoming entangled. Also, all cords and cables should be placed so they are out of the reach of children. Avoid climbing on top of the unit, or placing heavy objects on it Never climb on top of, nor place heavy objects on the unit. Disconnect everything before moving the unit Disconnect all cords coming from external devices before moving the unit. IMPORTANT NOTES Placement • This device may interfere with radio and television reception. Do not use this device in the vicinity of such receivers. • When moved from one location to another where the temperature and/or humidity is very different, water droplets (condensation) may form inside the unit. Damage or malfunction may result if you attempt to use the unit in this condition. Therefore, before using the unit, you must allow it to stand for several hours, until the condensation has completely evaporated. • Depending on the material and temperature of the surface on which you place the unit, its rubber feet may discolor or mar the surface. You can place a piece of felt or cloth under the rubber feet to prevent this from happening. If you do so, please make sure that the unit will not slip or move accidentally. • Swiftly wipe away any liquid that spills on the unit using a dry, soft cloth. Maintenance • For everyday cleaning wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth or one that has been slightly dampened with water. To remove stubborn dirt, use a cloth impregnated with a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Afterwards, be sure to wipe the unit thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth. • Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol or solvents of any kind, to avoid the possibility of discoloration and/or deformation. Additional Precautions • Use a reasonable amount of care when using the unit’s switches; and when using its jacks and connectors. Rough handling can lead to malfunctions. • When disconnecting all cables, grasp the connector itself—never pull on the cable. This way you will avoid causing shorts, or damage to the cable’s internal elements. • When you need to transport the unit, package it in the box (including padding) that it came in, if possible. Otherwise, you will need to use equivalent packaging materials. • Use only the specified expression pedal (Roland EV- 5, BOSS FV-500L, BOSS FV-500H; sold separately). How to operate the foot controller

Using the expression pedalsBy connecting expression pedals (Roland EV-5, BOSS FV-500L, BOSS FV-500H; sold separately), you can change the DRIVE value and volume by pedal.

DRIVE jackUse this to control DRIVE. When BOOST is off, the sound can be changed from clean to crunch, and when BOOST is on, changed from clean to super extreme.

With an expression pedal connected to the DRIVE jack, the drive value can be controlled from 0 to the current DRIVE value on the panel. When the pedal is pressed fully down, the drive value shown by the panel knob will be applied.

VOLUME jackThis is for controlling the volume. Volume swell and mute are possible.

フット・コントローラーの操作方法

エクスプレッション・ペダルを使うエクスプレッション・ペダル(Roland EV-5、BOSS FV-500L、BOSS FV-500H:別売)を接続すると、ペダルを使ってDRIVEの値と音量を変化させることができます。

DRIVE端子DRIVEをコントロールします。BOOSTがオフのときはクリーンからクランチまで、BOOSTがオンのときはクリーンからスーパー・エクストリームまで変化させることができます。DRIVE端子に接続したエクスプレッション・ペダルでは、ドライブの値を0からパネル上の現在のDRIVEの値までコントロールできます。ペダルを一杯に踏み込んだときにパネル上のつまみで設定したドライブの値になります。

VOLUME端子音量をコントロールします。ボリューム奏法やミュートが可能です。

※ この端子に接続したエクスプレッション・ペダルでコントロールできるボリュームはパネル上の[VOLUME]とは異なります。ペダルの操作と[VOLUME]つまみの指標は連動しません。

エクスプレッション・ペダルでコントロールできるドライブの値

ファンクション・モードのときに点滅します。

フット・コントローラーでチャンネルの切り換えができます。また、[FUNCTION]スイッチを押すことでBOOST、MID BOOST、EFX LOOP A、EFX LOOP B、REVERBのオン/オフが切り換えられます。

※ フット・コントローラーによるBOOST、MID BOOST、EFX LOOP A、EFX LOOP B、REVERBのオン/オフはチャンネルに記憶されません。

GA-212/GA-112のFOOT CONTROL/LINK IN端子にステレオ・ケーブルで接続します。※ 必ずステレオ・ケーブルを使用してください。※ 抵抗の入っていないケーブルを使用してください。

エクスプレッション・ペダルのMINIMUM VOLUMEを設定するエクスプレッション・ペダルの[MINIMUM VOLUME]つまみで、ペダルを戻したときの値(最下限値)を設定することができます。

チャンネル切り換え後のDRIVEの値の設定についてDRIVE端子にエクスプレッション・ペダルを接続しているとき、チャンネル切り換え後のDRIVEの値をチャンネルに記憶している値ではなく、現在のペダルの値にすることができます。設定方法は「GA-212/GA-112取扱説明書」をご覧ください。

[MINIMUM VOLUME]つまみ

※ エクスプレッション・ペダルは、必ず指定のもの(別売:Roland EV-5、BOSS FV-500L、BOSS FV-500H)をお使いください。他社製品を接続すると、本体の故障の原因になる場合があります。

警告分解や改造をしない本機を分解したり、改造したりしないでください。

個人で修理や部品交換はしない修理/部品の交換などで、取扱説明書に書かれていないことは、絶対にしないでください。必ずお買い上げ店またはローランドお客様相談センターに相談してください。

次のような場所で使用や保管はしない次のような場所に設置しないでください。• 温度が極端に高い場所(直射日光の当

たる場所、暖房機器の近く、発熱する機器の上など)

• 水気の近く(風呂場、洗面台、濡れた床など)や湿度の高い場所

• 湯気や油煙が当たる場所• 塩害の恐れがある場所• 雨に濡れる場所• ほこりや砂ぼこりの多い場所• 振動や揺れの多い場所

不安定な場所に設置しない本機を、ぐらつく台の上や傾いた場所に設置しないでください。必ず安定した水平な場所に設置してください。

警告異物や液体を入れない、液体の入った容器を置かない本機に、異物(燃えやすいもの、硬貨、針金など)や液体(水、ジュースなど)を絶対に入れないでください。ショートや誤動作など、故障となることがあります。

異常や故障が生じたときは電源を切る次のような場合は、直ちにアンプ側の電源を切って、お買い上げ店またはローランドお客様相談センターに修理を依頼してください。• 煙が出たり、異臭がしたりしたとき• 異物が内部に入ったり、液体がこぼれ

たりしたとき• 機器が(雨などで)濡れたとき• 機器に異常や故障が生じたとき

お子様の取り扱いに注意するお子様のいる場所で使用する場合、お子様の取り扱いやいたずらに注意してください。必ず大人のかたが、監視/指導してあげてください。

落としたり、強い衝撃を与えたりしない本機を落としたり、本機に強い衝撃を与えないでください。

注意コードやケーブルは煩雑にならないように配線する接続したコードやケーブル類は、煩雑にならないように配慮してください。特に、コードやケーブル類は、お子様の手が届かないように配慮してください。

上に乗ったり、重いものを置いたりしない本機の上に乗ったり、機器の上に重いものを置いたりしないでください。

移動するときはすべての接続をはずす本機を移動するときは、外部機器との接続をはずしてください。

使用上のご注意

設置について• 本機をテレビやラジオの近くで動作させると、テ

レビ画面に色ムラが出たりラジオから雑音が出たりすることがあります。この場合は、本機を遠ざけて使用してください。

• 極端に温湿度の違う場所に移動すると、内部に水滴がつく(結露する)ことがあります。そのまま使用すると故障の原因になります。数時間放置して、結露がなくなってから使用してください。

• 設置条件(設置面の材質、温度など)によっては、本機のゴム足が設置した床などの表面を変色または変質させることがあります。ゴム足の下にフェルトなどの布を敷くと、安心してお使いいただけます。この場合、本機が滑って動いたりしないことを確認してからお使いください。

• 表面に付着した液体は、速やかに乾いた柔らかい布で拭き取ってください。

お手入れについて• 通常のお手入れは、柔らかい布で乾拭きするか、

固く絞った布で汚れを拭き取ってください。汚れが激しいときは、中性洗剤を含んだ布で汚れを拭き取ってから、柔らかい布で乾拭きしてください。

• 変色や変形の原因となる、ベンジン、シンナー、アルコール類は使用しないでください。

修理について• お客様が本機を分解、改造された場合、以後の性

能について保証できなくなります。また、修理をお断りする場合もあります。

• 当社では、本機の補修用性能部品(製品の機能を維持するために必要な部品)を、製造打切後6年間保有しています。この部品保有期間を修理可能の期間とさせていただきます。なお、保有期間を過ぎた後でも、故障箇所によっては修理可能の場合がありますので、お買い上げ店、またはローランドお客様相談センターにご相談ください。

その他の注意について• 故障の原因になりますので、スイッチ、入出力端

子などに過度の力を加えないでください。

• ケーブルを抜くときは、ショートや断線を防ぐため、プラグ部分を持って引き抜いてください。

• 輸送や引っ越しをするときは、本機が入っていた箱と緩衝材、または同等品で梱包してください。

• 本機が入っていた梱包箱や緩衝材を廃棄するときは、各地域のゴミの分別基準に従ってください。

• エクスプレッション・ペダルは、必ず指定のもの (別売:Roland EV-5、BOSS FV-500L、BOSS FV-500H)をお使いください。他社製品を接続すると、本体の故障の原因になる場合があります。
