In this rich, psychological drama, everyone has a secret...

Times are changing. Girls are wearing trousers and Hollywood has come to a sleepy English village in the shape of a beautiful film star. Miss Marple is left to feel that the world has no need of her now, until a mysterious death calls into question the past of all those present. Everyone’s version of events is different. Can Miss Marple unravel the tangle of ties?

This thrilling new play, based on Agatha Christie’s novel, explores how we all colour our own memories, our own truths, to disguise the darkness that lies within.

An outstanding cast includes Susie Blake (Coronation Street, Mrs Brown’s Boys, Victoria Wood As Seen On TV) as Miss Marple, Simon Shepherd (Peak Practice, Casualty) as Detective Inspector Craddock and Julia Hills (Worst Wedding Ever) as Dolly Bantry.

BALLETBOYZ: THEM/USApplauded across the globe for their stunning live performances, films and TV appearances, BalletBoyz make their first Salisbury appearance with two brand new works, both set to original scores by world-class composers.

Them, the first half of the show, is created through a unique, collaborative choreographic process by the BalletBoyz company dancers. The piece explores the individuality that resides within each dancer and the versatility of movement which the company has always been known for. Them proves to be an exciting culmination of the experience the company has gained after 20 years of working with leading choreographers, designers, composers and artists.

Tony and Olivier Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon concludes the evening with Us, exploring human connections and culminating in a an expanded version of the tender duet which premiered in 2017 to wide critical and public acclaim. Performed by the full company, the piece presents BalletBoyz at its powerful best.

Set to contrasting scores by cult singer- songwriter Keaton Henson and emerging composer Charlotte Harding, this innovative double bill asks where we see ourselves in relation to the “other,” and explores the fine balance between them and us.

MILES JUPP IN THE LIFE I LEADBy James Kettle

FROM THE PRODUCERS OF SAND IN THE SANDWICHES

Best remembered for playing Mr Banks in Disney’s classic film Mary Poppins, David Tomlinson was renowned for playing the classic English gent, forthright, proper, and a loveable fool.

The Life I Lead sees Miles Jupp, one of Britain’s leading stand-up comedians and revered actors (Mock the Week, The News Quiz, Rev, The Durrells) bring his remarkable story to life, in a richly comic and moving tale which fills in the blanks behind a very well-known face.

AN OUT OF JOINT AND ROYAL & DERNGATE PRODUCTION IN ASSOCIATION WITH OXFORD PLAYHOUSE

THE REMAINS OF THE DAY Based on the book by Kazuo IshiguroAdapted by Barney Norris

1930s England. Darlington Hall runs like clockwork under one of the last truly great butlers. Reserved and dutiful like his father before him and with the funny and forthright housekeeper Miss Kenton by his side, Stevens faithfully serves his employer. Meanwhile, England stands on a precipice, as fascism builds and boils in Europe.

20 years later, Stevens travels to find an old friend, remembering choices made and not made, journeying to one last chance at happiness.

2017 Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel, which became a beloved Merchant Ivory film, is a story for anyone who has ever been afraid to follow their heart.

This exquisite new stage adaptation is written by Barney Norris (Echo’s End, Salisbury Playhouse and the Salisbury-based novel Five Rivers Met on a Wooded Plain).

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON A New Celtic Musical

Discover a sleepy fishing harbour at the end of the First World War – home to a most curious story of one man, and the timeless tale of a love that defies all odds.

Born in the most unusual circumstances, Benjamin Button is an old man, not at the end of his life, but at the beginning. Trapped in a body where he doesn’t belong, locked away from the world and branded a monster, Benjamin dreams of freedom and adventure. And more than anything, he dreams of love. But just as he gives up hope, resigning himself to a life of solitude, a miracle occurs – a local girl, by the name of Elowen Keene.

But, as we all know, time and tide wait for no man, and as the decades pass, their lives begin to move in reverse. And when war calls Benjamin across the seas, time is not their only enemy.

Lyrics by Jethro Compton & Darren Clark

Music by Darren Clark

2726

This stranger-than-fiction true life story is a moving and thoughtful portrayal of one man’s determination to find the Good Samaritan who changed his life.

On a cold January morning in 2008, 21 year old Jonny Benjamin went to Waterloo Bridge to take his life. Balanced on the edge of the railings, a stranger stopped and talked him out of jumping in an act of kindness that was to change both their lives forever.

The Stranger on the Bridge is a poignant account of what led Jonny to the bridge that day and the astonishing events six years later when he decided to track down the Good Samaritan to say thanks.

A heart-warming, inspirational and deeply moving production featuring an appearance from Jonny Benjamin himself, this is an account of what it is to struggle with mental illness but also how redemption can be found in the darkest and unlikeliest of moments.
