Description about the Event:

A Webinar by our Alumni Ms. Riya Rokde on recent trends in IT, future scope and How to

prepare for the Interviews was conducted on 22nd

August, 2015 for MCA students. She is a

passout student of MCA department from 2014 batch have got highest package in PTC Solutions

Pvt. Ltd. Pune. It‟s a Product based company. She started talk at around 11:00 AM on Skype by

introducing her background and struggle she has gone through to get placed in such a company.

Then interacted with our students by asking question from both sides and answered in a very

motivating and inspiring way.

Students learned so many things to prepare well in advance for any company and motivated to do

so to face placement processes. They were so happy by interacting with their senior and cleared

all the doubts about all academic processes and benefits by facing them. Students were thanked

to Director, Dr. Preeti Bajaj Madam, Dean T & P Cell, HOD, MCA Department of GHRCE to

provide such a great opportunity to interact with Alumni. The event was coordinated by Mr.

Pravin Ghatode.

A TECHNICAL TALK ON CRACKING GD & PI IN CAMPUS

INTERVIEWS UNDER IEEE.

Department of Electronics Engineering organized a technical talk by Mr. Shaswat Jha (GHRCE

Alumni) on cracking GD, PI in Campus Interviews under banner of IEEE professional society

activity for 3rd

& 4th

year students of department on 03/08/2015. His discussion was helpful in

understanding new concept of GD and PI. All doubt, and queries of students were solved.

Students discussed their problems with Mr. Shaswat Jha. The activity was coordinated by Prof.

L. P. Thakare.

ALUMNI LECTURE FOR VIII SEM INFORMATION

TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS

Department of Informaton Technology ,G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur

had organized Expert Lecture on the topic “Embedded System Security” on 30

th July 2015 for

VII semester students. The speaker was Mr. Manish Diware, student alumni, G. H. Raisoni

College of Engineering, Nagpur.

He explained about the basics of Mechatronics and also the basics of embedded controller used

in every Mechatronics applications. He also explained the technical concept behind every

embedded application like Multi color printer, Washings Machine, Air Conditioner etc., which

are used in our day to day activities.

The session was organized by Alumni Coordinator Prof. G. S. Khekare from Information

Technology Department. It was a very interactive session and students participated with full zeal.

The students and staff found the session informative and impressive.

DEPARTMENT ORGANIZED CAREER GUIDANCE TALK

UNDER ALUMNI CELL

Career counseling involves scientifically developed aptitude tests and personality tests that

help the counselor give the best suited career advice to the student based on his report of his

aptitude and personality. Human capacities are infinite and can never be measured, nor are

we to judge of what one can do. Every person has unique characteristics, for everyone has his

or her own strengths and weaknesses. The key is to identify these unique qualities is through

career counselling. On August 7, 2015 Mr. Akshay Bhandar (Quant Capital, Mumbai) and

Mr. Vineet Kulria alumni of the department delivered a talk on the same to facilitate the V

semester student‟s potentials to equip them with functional knowledge, values and attitudes,

desirable habits and skills needed by them to cope up with the changes in their environment.

They also supported students to boost the morale and confidence and gave new directions to

the students which will be beneficial for the whole society.

A Guest Lecture on Computer Networks was organized on

7th August 2015 by Electronics Engineering Department.

Engineering Department, for the 45 students of VII Sem ETRX (A & B).The lecture was

delivered by Ms. Ankita Chaturvedi Senior Network Engineer, Citrix, Bangalore. She is alumni

of Electronics Engineering department of G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering. She answered

each and every question raised by students regarding scope in IT sector, her role in Citrix etc.

She helped a lot in clarifying student‟s doubts .She also shared her experience at Citrix and the

work she carried out at company‟s end. It was essential for students to know her views in person.

ALUMNI LECTURE FOR V SEM INFORMATION

TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS on SQL & JDBC CONNECTIVITY

Department of Informaton Technology, G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur had

organized Expert Lecture on the topic “SQL and JDBC Connectivity” on 22

nd August 2015

for V semester students. The speaker was Mr. Sumeet Warankar, software engineer,

Persistent Systems Pvt. Ltd., student alumni, G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur

He explained how to create a simple JDBC application and further explained six steps involved

in building a JDBC application −Import the packages, Register the JDBC driver, Open a

connection, Execute a query, Extract data from result set, Clean up the environment. He

demonstrated how to open a database connection, execute a SQL query, and display the results.

The session was organized by Alumni Coordinator Prof. G. S. Khekare from Information

Technology Department. It was a very interactive session and students participated with full zeal.

Department of Electronics Engineering organizes Technical Talk under Alumni Cell & zenith -

15 on 25th Aug 2015 on “Labview and its Interfacing” for 5

th Sem A students. Mr. Sameer

Taksande Alumni of GHRCE (M.Tech 2012 VLSI Batch) from ARAV Technology Nagpur

Came to deliver and shows new interesting aspect while doing data acquisition under different

electronics sensors and other part through normal devices to Labview applications. In which

students finds the big opportunity towards this area for as career and research. They also

demonstrate some practical simulation and hardware to student‟s awareness and introduction to

new generation technology.

Guest Lecture on Advanced Casting Techniques& its Applications

Department of Mechanical Engineering has organized a guest lecture for the students of third

year, fifth semester. The guest lecture was organized on 1st August, 2015 on “Advanced Casting

Techniques & its Applications”. Mr. NavinVerma from Mahesh Castings, MIDC Nagpur was the

expert for delivering the lecture. And also Mr. NavinVerma is alumni of GHRCE Nagpur, passed

in 2009 batch.

GUEST LECTURE ON CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN SOLAR

ENERGY AND PUBLIC SECTOR ORGANIZATION

Department of Mechanical Engineering under aegis of Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) has

organized Guest lecture of Mr.Swapnil Walde Thermal Engineer, Military Engineering services,

Vishakhapatnam for First and Third semester M.Tech (HPE) students on 28-05-2015. He

delivered a lecture on „Career opportunities in solar energy and public sector organization‟. He is

the alumni of 2011 batch of GHRCE. He has explain the avenues available in the government

organization for engineering graduate specially thermal engineering side.All students members

of SESI and faculty members of Mechanical Engg Department were present in the programme.

Alumni activity (Interaction of Alumni with students)

Alumni of Mechanical Engg .Department M.Tech (HPE) Mr. Arjun Wargane (2013 passing

year) visited the Department and centralized workshop on 28/08/2015. He discussed with the

students of I semester and guided them about the various operations to be conducted in smithy,

carpentry and welding shop. Prof. S.R.Karale, Prof. R.A.Jibhkate . Prof. V.W.Khond and Prof.

Abhijeet Getame were present during interaction.

Department under Alumni Activity

Every student faces the question of „what next’ after completion of their education or at the last

step of their education. Choosing a career that matches one‟s aptitude and personality itself

translates into professional success and popularity. The main aim of the activity is to help

students choose a field that is in tune with their skills and their job expectations. On August 28,

2015, alumni of the department Prachi, Prachi Sontakke (Assistant Systems Engineer, TCS

Mumbai), Vaibhavi Bhelkar and Pranjali Dahikar interacted with the V semester students and

discussed the importance of their field in todays environment..Thus, with the help of the meet,

most candidates end up choosing the right career, and can definitely perform their level best,

which ultimately helps them succeed.

A guest lecture on how to get prepared for corporate world was delivered by Ms. Sneha Bhoyar

(2009 pass out student of Electrical Engineering Department) on 27/08/2015. Ms. Sneha Bhoyar

has 5 years of experience in IT industry, & currently she is working with renowned IT company

TCS as an IT analyst. She interacted with the students of 5th Semester on her own experience on

getting selected through campus drive till her growth in IT sector, and also gave them many tips

& tricks on how to crack competitive exams.
