Ali (our school vice captain) was awarded the School Citizenship Award 2013 for Granville East. This award is sponsored every year by the Auburn Review. Ali and 8 members of his proud family attended an award ceremony last week in which recipients from each school in the area were presented with a trophy. Everyone at Granville East is so proud of you, Ali! Returning in 2014? We need to know if you are coming back late from holidays or moving out of our school. Please fill in the note sent home this week and give to a teacher. Farewell Ms Morris! Ms Morris has been promoted… she won a merit selection process to be the next Deputy Principal at Stanmore Public School. This is a wonderful career move and opportunity for Ms Morris, however she will be sadly missed at GEPS. Ms Morris has been at our school for 14 years and is well known and respected by students, colleagues and parents. She will start her new role in 2014— so we have only 5 more weeks to farewell her, try to replace her and find out where she keeps that Sports Storeroom Key!! Congratulations, Ms Morris! Fantastic fundraising efforts Thank you to the whole GEPS community for assisting in our last 2 fundraisers: • Rainbow Day raised $482 for the BabyTree Project which will build a school in Cambodia; • Movie Afternoon today raised $690 which will pay the choir and dance groups’ travel to the Opera House & contribute to Year 6 fundraising. Thank you for your continued support of our children's futures. P&C MEETING Will be held on Tuesday 19th November in the Community Room at 9:15 am. Parents and Friends are most welcome to attend. Take an active role in your children’s education!
