• Medical statement for participants with a disability can now be signed by licensed physicians AND medical professionals who are authorized to write medical prescriptions– Physicians, dentists, optometrists,

physician assistants, advanced practice nurse prescribers, and podiatrists

Infant Feeding in the CACFP

• Breastmilk Storage: Extends length of time fresh breastmilk may be stored in the refrigerator from 48 hours to 72 hours

• DHA Enriched Infant Foods: single-ingredient infant foods containing DHA creditable for infants – DHA itself cannot cause allergic

reactions

• Highly Allergic Foods: no evidence to delay introduction of foods considered to be highly allergic, including eggs
