Art Wanson Group is a dedicated family of individuals whose aim and philosophy is the creation of excellence in Art, Design, Architecture, Cultural Strategies and Luxury Projects.

The creation of a distinct international platform comes to describe the Group as a source of inspiration for luxury seekers and companies alike. Its select clientele enjoys the challenge of new creations.

Léon Wanson founded the Wanson Group in 1949. A visionary of his time, he focused his engineering organization on contemporary ground-breaking innovations. His energy and commitment let him quickly expand from Belgium to France, Italy & Morocco, reaching a presence in thirty-nine countries around the globe over the years.

In their wish to continue the Wanson family’s legacy, Mercedes and François Duerinckx created Art Wanson Gallery and Art Wanson Group. Based on the success of a family tradition that was powered by innovation, the Arts and Culture became quintessential values to initiate profound and positive contributions to the world.

Today, their galleries are based in Marbella, Madrid and Valencia. With further representation in Doha, Paris, London and Sao Paulo, the Group is expanding towards Russian, Asian & African markets.

The iconic emblem of the buffalo that once used to adorn Grandfather Wanson’s factories, is now reborn. A revered symbol, it represents strength, stability and most of all wisdom, and has been brought back to life with the Art Wanson Group.

Art Wanson group est un groupe de professionnels qui a pour but et philosophie la création de l’excellence dans l’art, le design et l’architecture, les stratégies culturelles et les projets de Luxe.

Une source d’inspiration, une plateforme internationale pour l’art, le luxe et les stratégies culturelles qui s’adresse aux personnes et aux entreprises à la recherche du luxe d’aujourd’hui. Nos clients internationaux et exclusifs apprécient le défi que représente les nouvelles créations.

L’héritage de Wanson Group remonte au siècle précédent, précisément à l’année 1949 et à la création de l’entreprise de Léon Wanson, un homme d’affaires visionnaire. Une entreprise florissante présente en France, en Europe et dans le monde qui suite à l’intégration des entreprises Babcox and Wilcox se convertit en un conglomérat industriel sous le nom de Babcock Wanson.

Désireux de suivre les traces de leur grand-père, François et Mercedes Duerinckx créent Art Wanson Gallery et Art Wanson Group. Leurs galeries sont basées à Marbella, Madrid et Valencia et sont de nos jours représentées à Doha, Paris, Londres ou Sao Paulo. Ils continuent leur politique d’expansion grâce à l’ouverture de nouveaux marchés aussi bien en Russie, en Asie et au Maroc.

L’emblème du “Bison” utilisé pour orner les façades des usines de Léon Wanson, symbole de force, de stabilité et de sagesse, renaît fièrement aujourd’hui à travers les projets d’ Art Wanson Group.

BIOGRAPHY

Neuilly - Sur - Seine, Paris, 1958

Born in 1958, François Duerinckx studied in France’s leading photography schools. However, his passion has always lied within the realms of racing. Fascinated by the mechanics of motoring and fine engineering, François Duerinckx’s engagement in the world of excellence has always been accompanied by beautiful design. François worked as a mechanic with René Metge, and specialized in tuning AMG, Brabus and Carlston Supercars after starting his company under the name of ‘Star Tuning 78’. Twice participant in the Paris-Moscow-Beijing Rally and other world races in Tunisia, Morocco, Chile and Argentina, he drove the R5 Alpine Turbo Coupé, followed by the Porsche Carrera Cup for the Adventurous Spirit. La Coupe des Alpes on board a 911RS and a 911 Speedster granted him a third place finish and his most memorable race.

Ten years into this scene of racing and high-end-tuning, François went on to take charge of a small Honda dealership in Viroflay in 1978, and later opened - and specialized in - Mercedes.

His know-how has developed and evolved over several years of active trademarks in the fashion and luxury industry. He talks to us about the close relationship between automotive branding and art, and uses its materials in his creations. At the same time, he reflects his particular views on the world in his work, in his own language.

Classic brands are approached with an emphatically modern sensibility; American brands and culture are visibly admired and the artist is constantly revising his approach to all his sources of inspiration, enjoying the freedom of reinventing and highlighting the aspects he chooses to in each piece.

Pop Artist François Duerinckx, showing a unique perception of reality, offers viewers a renewed vision of 21st Century Pop Art through the ten models from his collection “Fashion Show Pop Models Art”, based on a variety of symbols and international brands. Varied, harmonious and elegant, the collection is a tribute to the modern woman.

The experimental artist and historian turned towards sculpture as a means of expression. The models in this collection are for the rebellious in spirit, and form one of his most complete compilations. The universal Artist is always innovative and committed to his time. Based on his experience in the world of motorsports, he uses a combination of artistry

and craftsmanship to create. Constantly introducing new products and brands as well as a variety of recycled materials into his works of Art – aluminium, plastic, rubber, leather and glass -, the pieces exude a clear focus on design. The performance and visual artist, devoted to innovative and creative works, relies heavily on branding aspects.

The pieces are remodelled with fiberglass, sanded and painted following procedures typically used in tuning: “Poli-shine” is applied layer upon layer. Each mannequin is unique, exclusive and handmade by the artist and takes around 300 hours to complete.

The artist is currently creating a series that will be exhibited to the public shortly.

Two emblematic pieces from the collection have been recently exhibited at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (2014).

GA.GA.A HOMAGE TO LADY GAGA

& JEAN-PAUL GAULTIER

Known and recognised by her ever-changing and extravagant aesthetic sensibility, Lady GaGA is interpreted by experimental Artist François Duerinckx under the revisited, provocative and sexy vision of fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier. The piece is part of a larger collection entitled “Fashion Show Pop Models Art”. It is a homage to the music icon as well as to the artisan of Haute Couture, as Jean-Paul Gaultier likes to describe himself.

UN HOMMAGE À LADY GAGA & JEAN - PAUL GAULTIER

Lady Gaga, connue et reconnue pour son sens esthétique en constante évolution a inspiré l’artiste expérimental François Duerinckx qui lui a dédié une de ses créations revisitée sous l’angle provocant y sexy du grand couturier Jean Paul Gaultier. Cette pièce fait partie intégrante de sa collection intitulée “Défilé de Pop Modèles Art”. Par cette oeuvre innovante, l’artiste rend un hommage à cette icône de la musique ainsi qu’à un grand artisan de la haute couture comme aime à se définir Jean Paul Gaultier.

Il nous dévoile son propre language artistique, sa façon de penser le monde.

UN HOMMAGE À LA FEMME MODERNE

La collection de l’artiste expérimental François Duerinckx Wanson (FDW) est unique, un hommage aux défilés de Haute Couture et à leurs Top Modèles qui se traduit par le tître très évocateur «Fashion Show Top Models Art» qu’il a choisi de lui donner.

L’artiste Pop Art, François Duerinckx, a créé une collection de dix modèles intitulée “Fashion Show Pop Models Art”, basée sur une variété de symboles et de marques internationales.

A travers sa perception unique de la réalité et sa vision renouvelée de l’art du XXIème siècle, il rend un vibrant hommage à la femme moderne. Sa collection est variée, harmonieuse et élégante. Artiste expérimental et historien amateur, le modelage des corps est son moyen d’expression. Ses modèles qui charment les esprits rebelles représentent l’une des collections les plus complètes de cet artiste universel, très novateur et engagé. Se basant sur son expérience du monde du sport automobile, il use d’une habile combinaison de l’art et de l’artisanat. Il ne cesse de lancer de nouveaux concepts, et d’utiliser une variété de matériaux recyclés pour réaliser ses oeuvres d’art, ses pièces mettant clairement l’accent sur le design. La performance et la

vision de l’artiste reposent en grande partie sur sa perception des marques de luxe et de leur message. Des marques de l’industrie du luxe revisitées et sublimées par ses oeuvres novatrices et créatives pop art.

Ces mannequins sont remodelés avec de la fibre de verre, poncés, peints et brossés, suivant les mêmes procédés que ceux employés pour les voitures de prestige; il utilise entre autre, la technique du polilustré, faisant preuve d’une infinie patience, posant une couche après l’autre, jusqu’à obtenir la finition recherchée. Chaque modèle est unique, exclusif et fait à la main par l’artiste. Les pièces nécessitent un travail important de conception et d’élaboration, et sont réalisées en aluminium recyclé, plastique, caoutchouc, cuir, verre, etc.

Chacune de ses délicates pièces nécessitent environ 300 heures de travail.L’artiste travaille actuellement à la création d’une série qui sera exposée dans son intégralité au public en temps opportun.

Deux pièces emblématiques de la collection ont été récemment exposées au Musée Thyssen-Bornemisza à Madrid (2014).
