Important notes for users in the U.K.Mains plugThis apparatus is fitted with an approved 13 Amp plug. Tochange a fuse in this type of plug proceed as follows:1 Remove fuse cover and fuse.2 Fix new fuse which should be a BS1362 5 Amp, A.S.T.A.

or BSI approved type.3 Refit the fuse cover. If the fitted plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, itshould be cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place. If the mains plug contains a fuse, this should have a valueof 5 Amp. If a plug without a fuse is used, the fuse at thedistribution board should not be greater than 5 Amp.Note: The severed plug must be disposed of to avoid apossible shock hazard should it be inserted into a 13 Ampsocket elsewhere. How to connect a plugThe wires in the mains lead are coloured with the followingcode: blue = neutral (N), brown = live (L).As these colours may not correspond with the colourmarkings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed asfollows:• Connect the blue wire to the terminal marked N or col-

oured black.• Connect the brown wire to the terminal marked L or col-

oured red.• Do not connect either wire to the earth terminal in the

plug, marked E (or e) or coloured green (or green andyellow).

Before replacing the plug cover, make certain that the cordgrip is clamped over the sheath of the lead - not simplyover the two wires.Copyright in the U.K.Recording and playback of material may require consent.See Copyright Act 1956 and The Performer’s ProtectionActs 1958 to 1972.

Dolby Pro LogicThis state of the art Dolby Pro Logic mini system enablesyou to experience and enjoy a Home Cinema soundambience. The Pro Logic system allows more accuratedefinition of the individual sound sources. It producesgreater sound separation between channels andprovides pinpoint sound localisation. Pro Logic providesfour outputs which are called Left, Center, Right andSurround (Rear). Front signals are produced from the pairof Left and Right speakers and a Center speaker. Thesurround signal is reproduced by two speakers placed atthe rear of the listening area. Although the surroundsignal is mono, a pair of speakers is necessary toproduce the correct diffused sound field.

This Pro Logic decoder enables you to decode thefollowing mode : Dolby Surround, Center Phantom,Dolby 3 Stereo or normal Stereo.

Setting up the Dolby Pro Logic systemYou need to do a proper set up in order for you to enjoythe Home Cinema sound to the fullest. First you need todo a complete speakers’ connection.

5-Speakers Connection• Front speakers : Connect the black wires to the

black FRONT terminals and the red wires to the redFRONT terminals.

• Center speaker : Connect the black or non-markedwires to the black CENTER terminal and the blue ormarked wires to the blue CENTER terminal.

Front Left and Right SpeakersFor best listening effect, it is recommended to have theLeft and Right speakers to form an angle ofapproximately 45 degrees to the listener. The speakersare magnetic shielded. Should the magnetic field from

the speakers affect the picture of the television, youshould increase the separation distance.

Center SpeakerFor best directional effect, try to have the center speakerat the same height as the left and right speakers and asclose as possible to the screen. Place it directly above orbeneath the television set.

Rear (surround) SpeakersThe surround speaker should be placed at normallistening ear level. It can also be mounted on the wall atthe back of the room. Most important , sometimes youneed to experiment creatively when placing the surroundspeakers in order to obtain the most ideal soundprojection.
