About us

We are small - but important. We want your help to grow awareness and support for

70,000 patients and the 1,000s who are still isolated. We are a national charity working

across the UK. Local support will help leverage our growth across the UK.

1 in 5 people in the UK have benign growths on their pituitary glands……but at least

70,000 more suffer from serious conditions. The problem is, many people will never be

diagnosed. Symptoms are vague and most GPs will simply never make the connection.

Sufferers are told “go home, get some rest”. That can mean serious pain, fatigue, weight

gain, headaches, thirst, dizziness, lack of sex drive, nausea, poor eyesight, relationship

struggles...

Little things that tear your life apart.…for years. The average time for a diagnosis is 5

years. 1,000s suffer from this invisible illness, and anyone can be affected. Some

patients are born with a condition whilst others can be diagnosed at any point during their

life. Pituitary conditions can be treated, but there is no cure. What’s common to them all

is that without the right treatment their quality of life will deteriorate. We’re fighting to

raise awareness, to get more diagnoses and to make sure patients get the care and

support they need. We’ve got ambition, organisation and expertise, but we need money.

We are the frontline for 1000s of new and existing patients. We rally the UK’s patients

and experts in endocrinology. Our helplines, publications, website, medical experts and

local support groups are vital to this community.

But we want to do more.

We want fewer people to suffer in silence. Fewer missed diagnoses. Fewer lives ruined

by mundane but powerful symptoms. If we can raise awareness then we can reach more

patients in their hour of need. We offer many FREE support services including an

Endocrine Nurse Specialist Helpline, Telephone Support Helpline, Peer Support Service,

Local Support Groups and informative publications.

We want your help. By Going Orange you will make a vital difference to our work.
