Recorder Lessons with Annie Quicke
Due to the weather, not many children were able to be at school on Friday 1st February. We decided to cancel recorder lessons for that day. Annie has a music teaching training course on Friday 8th February, so there will be no lesson on that day either, and Friday 15th February is a non-pupil day.
The next recorder lesson will happen after half term, on Friday 1st March. There are still enough weeks to complete the eight lessons due this term, but this would mean going into the last week of term. If, for any reason, Annie is not able to deliver the total number of lessons you have paid for, by the end of term, she will credit you for a lesson going into next term, or mon-ey for that lesson will be refunded to you near the beginning of next term, once it is clear who is continuing with lessons into the summer term. (Recorder group les-sons are arranged on a term by term ba-sis).
REMINDER - HALF TERM BEGINS ON FRIDAY 15TH FEBRUARY
(NON-PUPIL DAY). CHILDREN RETURN TO SCHOOL ON
MONDAY 25TH FEBRUARY.
Class 1’s visit to Tiverton Castle
As part of their topic on castles, Class 1 went to visit Tiver-ton Castle. They saw battlements, arrow slits, the remains of the tower, old toilets and climbed a spiral staircase to see shields. They got to see weapons and armour and even try some on as well as having a go at lifting a cannon ball. We had a super time, thanks to the wonderful Mrs Gordon who showed us around.
Mrs Gordon wrote to us afterwards: "I very much enjoyed taking the children around the Castle the other day. All the princesses and knights looked splen-did, and they were so enthusiastic and imaginative”.
Well done Class 1 for being such great ambassadors for Bickleigh School.
Snow Day Photographs!
Abby and Lucca Hewins have both been excelling at county level with their gymnastics. On Sunday 27th January, Abby com-peted at the Devon Levels Championships. She gained dis-tinction and came away with the highest score of the whole day out of over 200 girls of all ages across Devon.
On Sunday 3rd February, Lucca competed in The Boys Devon Levels Team Championships, where squad teams compete from across the county. Lucca was one of four in the A team u12’s from Exeter. His team gained the highest score to take Team Gold.

Lost
Benny Williams has lost his Bickleigh School PE bag containing his black shorts, blue/green trainers and white Bickleigh logo t-shirt. If your child has brought this home in error, please return it to the School Office. Thank you.
A huge thank you to the BSA for buying over £1,000 worth of books for our school library. Thank you for all your contributions to BSA events so far this year.
Thank You
School Uniform - Online Ordering
The facility for ordering school uniform online via Tesco Clothing is ending on 12th February. As an interim arrangement, we are using Myclothing (www.myclothing.com) who have taken on Tesco’s customers. We are looking at alternative providers who have a free delivery service availa-ble. We hope to have something in place after half term.
