WE BELIEVE TOGETHER, WE CAN ACHIEVE

VICTORY OVER CANCER!®Mike "Coach K" Krzyzewski returns as host for the 13th time during the 22nd Annual V Foundation Wine Celebration on August 6-9, 2020. The 2020 V Wine Celebration has so much in store: award-winning journalist and television Hall of Famer Katie Couric will lead the charge to raise money during this year’s Fund-A-Need for colorectal cancer research, while legend-ary chef Michael Mina will provide the culinary genius. Our opening night event at Alpha Omega Winery will feature an exciting private concert by multi-platinum recording artist Andy Grammer!

Since 1999, the V Foundation Wine Celebration, benefitting the V Foundation for Cancer Research, has raised over $115 million for cancer research and related programs. This three-day signature series of events in the stunning Napa Valley demonstrates that commitment, passion and giving become the catalyst for positive change. Experience the best culinary adventures, the most sought-after wines, exciting performances, thought-provoking panels and the chance to meet amazing people from all over the country who are joining the same fight along with you. The V Foundation has proudly awarded more than $250 million for cutting- edge research, holds the highest possible 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest evaluator of charities, and is among the top 3% of all charities evaluated. The V Foundation is also a GuideStar platinum-rated charity.

Katie is an award-winning

journalist and New York Times best-selling author.

Couric was the first woman to solo

anchor a network evening newscast, CBS Evening News, and was co-anchor

of NBC’s Today Show. She has won a duPont-Columbia, a Peabody, two Edward

R. Murrows, a Walter Cronkite Award, and multiple Emmys.

In addition to writing The Best Advice I Ever Got: Lessons from Extraordinary

Lives, Couric’s memoir will be published in Spring 2021.

Since his 2011 self-titled debut, Grammer has consistently delivered

stratosphere-sized smashes buoyed by impressive range, deft musicality, and endless charisma. By 2019, he scored six chart-topping hits—

each certified gold or better by the RIAA. The artist’s breakout “Fine By Me” and its follow-up “Keep Your Head Up” are

both certified platinum. His 2014 sophomore offering, Magazines or Novels, went gold and yielded

the gold “Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah).” During this chapter, the single

“Honey, I’m Good” reached quadruple-platinum status

globally.

KATIE COURIC

FUND-A-NEED

Founded by Julie Maples, the V Foundation Wine Celebration—a world-class wine event set in the Napa Valley and benefiting the V Foundation for Cancer Research—has grown to one of the top-rated charity wine auctions in the country. Guided by a dedicated, volunteer board and committed staff, the three-day signature fundraiser has raised over $115 million since its first event in 1999.

Join us for the 22nd Annual V Foundation Wine Celebration, August 6-9, 2020, where over 600 guests—prominent members of the sports, entertainment, technology and investment communities—will come together to learn, be inspired, make new friends and CELEBRATE LIFE, while providing the support that’s vital to keeping Jim Valvano’s spirit alive.

Nickel & Nickel has been a supporter of the V Foundation for many years and since 2005 has graciously hosted the V Foundation Wine Celebration Gala at their Oakville Winery Estate. It’s with tremendous gratitude that we celebrate Beth Nickel, Larry McGuire, Dirk Hampson, and the GI Partners, who have made their winery our home.

The 20th Anniversary V Wine Celebration, hosted by Coach K, Robin Roberts, Scott Hamilton, Lou Holtz and Joe Theismann, raised a record-breaking $18 million. The total included more than $16 million in Fund-A-Need donations to our endowment, ensuring the longevity of our mission model: 100% of every direct donation goes to fund cancer research. To date, the V Foundation has awarded over $250 million in cancer research grants. For the complete history of the V Foundation Wine Celebration, please visit our website: winecelebration.org/about/history-timeline.

AUCTION AND ATTENDEES

The V Foundation first became endowed at the inaugural gala at Nickel & Nickel and now awards 100% of all direct cash dona-tions to benefit cancer research and related programs.

2005

Join the V Foundation to fund critical colon cancer research. GO TO WINECELEBRATION.ORG FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO DONATE.

Colorectal cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the U.S. It will be diagnosed in more than 145,000 people this year and will kill more than 51,000. In 2016, more than 1.3 million people were living with colorectal

cancer. The median age at diagnosis is 67 years of age.

The V Foundation has funded nearly $6 million in colorectal cancer re-search, including investment in research into the microbiome. Colon can-

cer, when discovered early, is highly treatable.

Join the fight alongside the V Foundation to fund critical resources that advance our understanding of how to prevent, detect, and treat this dis-

ease. Together we can end colorectal cancer within our lifetime.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

During the 2019 ESPYS, ESPN reached an incredible milestone in its effort to bring awareness to and funds for cancer research—the network announced it had helped raise over $100 million for the V Foundation since it was founded in 1993. Dollars came from generous employees, whose passion about the V is evidenced from the creative campaigns that make audiences laugh, think and cry each year. Dollars came through collaborations with other organizations who are equally passionate about cancer research, including Bristol-Myers Squibb, WWE, Corona and many others. And dollars came directly from sports fans, whose own stories of courage and determination inspire us to keep going until we achieve Victory Over Cancer®.

ESPN AND SPORTS FANS HELP TO RAISE $100 MILLION FOR CANCER RESEARCH

"ESPN has been a part of the V Foundation from the beginning. Their support has helped make advances in cancer research possible with their global recognition, they have brought so

much attention to stopping cancer. I'm proud to team with them to make Jim's dream of finding cures a reality."
