Fund Raising Banquet March 13
Michigan Trout Unlimited Fly Fishing School
The Michigan Trout Unlimited Fly Fishing School is indeed one of the finest and has been in existence for 49 years The 3-day school seeks to improve the skill of fly fishers from beginner to expert and is held once a year in early June on the Boardman River approx 12 miles from Traverse City Mi
The 2019 school will be June 7 - 9 2019
There are 3 levels of instruction
Beginners are instructed in the basics of fly casting and fly fishing and are introduced to a wide variety of angling interests
Experienced fly fishers will improve their skills technique and knowledge of the sport in the Intermediate and Advanced levels

YOUTH CAMP 2019
The following dates are for this years camp Begins on Sunday at noon June 23rd 2019 and ends on Thursday at noon June 27th
2019
Location of the camp is at the DNRs Ralph A MacMullan Conference Center on North Higgins Lake The center is located at 104 Conservation Dr Roscommon MI 48653
Cost for the camp is $35000 per camper KVCTU provides a 50 matching of funds for each camper to cover the total cost for the four day camp of $70000 Additional financial assistance is available upon request
The camp is open to boys amp girls ages 14-16

As I look out my window at a few feet of snow on the ground it is hard to believe that Spring is coming But it is less than 3 weeks away So get the fly reel out clean it and a small amount of oil on the shaft would be good
As far as fly lines yes there are fly line cleaners on the market but a dilute solution of Dawn on a rag works as well Look for cracks esp in the first 30 feet or so They would indicate time for a new line
Go through the fly boxes and get things organized If you dont have time to sit down at the tying bench I suggest going to your local shop
Maybe March will bring some sunny afternoons and fishable water arly spring afternoons are a good time for brown stone flies Try uncing them near the shore or long drifts through likely water

As I look out my window at a few feet of snow on the ground it is hard to believe that Spring is coming But it is less than 3 weeks away So get the fly reel out clean it and a small amount of oil on the shaft would be good
As far as fly lines yes there are fly line cleaners on the market but a dilute solution of Dawn on a rag works as well Look for cracks esp in the first 30 feet or so They would indicate time for a new line
Go through the fly boxes and get things organized If you dont have time to sit down at the tying bench I suggest going to your local shop
Maybe March will bring some sunny afternoons and fishable water arly spring afternoons are a good time for brown stone flies Try uncing them near the shore or long drifts through likely water
