Participants will learn folding, cutting, and gluing techniques.
Basic Folds
Hamburger(short sides together)
Hot Dog(long sides together)
Taco(fold on diagonal toform a right triangle)
Shutterfold(Drive-through window)
(fold sides to meet in middle)
Basic Cuts
▪ Shaving edges
▪Notch and cut
▪ Templates
▪ cut on solid lines only as indicated
▪ take care not to cut off anchor tab

Gluing Tips
▪Apply glue to Foldable® that is being attached▪ Thin line
▪ Dot and spread
▪ Small glue bottles (1.25oz) available on-line▪ Reinforce with duct tape
Participants will create a sample Envelope Graphic OrganizerTM.
▪ Preparing envelope: (part 1)▪ Close metal clasp along top edge (DO NOT GLUE SHUT)
▪ Shave opposite short edge (check by putting hand inside from bottom)
▪ Place envelope clasp side up, with clasp to the right, shaved short edge to the left
▪ Hamburger fold, clasp inside (match shaved bottom edge to closed top edge)
Participants will create a sample Envelope Graphic OrganizerTM.
▪ Preparing envelope (Part 2):▪ Open like a book, with shaved short edge to the left.
▪ From shaved short edge, shave the top and bottom of the left section ONLY TO THE FOLD (this creates two pages)
▪ Open so only one page is to the left, everything else is to the right
▪ Apply thin line/dots of glue along fold just inside right side
Participants will learn how to create Foldables® using templates and plain paper.
