BOARD MEETING: Thursday, July 19, 1 p.m.

A Message from Your Senior Club President,

Pauline Aguero:

On a personal note, I had my first trip with the Travel Club.

We visited the Keys Creek Lavender Farm and Valley View

Casino. I had a wonderful day and encourage everyone to

check out the Travel Club’s upcoming trips. I would like to

thank Christel, Carole, and Wendy for doing an outstanding

job planning this trip for 45 people.

Airport Day has come and gone. I want to thank Phil Ross

for the fantastic job he did with the Airport Day Movie, and

his tireless work on the Senior Club Handbook and

everything else that he does for the Club. Also, I want to

thank Wendy Ocepek and her volunteers for a successful

adventure at the Fullerton Airport Day last month.

Our Annual Membership Meeting will be held December 7,

2018 with the main order of business being the election of

our officers. The five member nominating committee will be

approved by the Board at the August 16, 2018 board

meeting. If you wish to participate either as a member of this

committee or as a candidate contact me by phone, by email

at [email protected], or leave a message at the

Senior Club office.

Don’t forget to support the free exercise and other classes

specifically for Seniors at the Community Center with your

attendance. Class attendance tends to go down in the

Summer. These wonderful classes are sponsored by the

NOCE and are always free! Check out the Calendar in the

Newsletter to see when the classes are offered.

Paulette’s Corner

Spotlighting our Senior Club Members

Meet Virginia B! She is 98 years old and may be

one of the oldest members of our Senior Center. She

has been a member for 51 years and comes to the

Senior Center everyday for lunch.

Virginia used to work for the Fullerton Police

Department. She also worked as a crossing guard at

one of our schools. Many thanks, Virginia, for

keeping our children safe!

Virginia loves to come to the dances. She loves the

drawings and looks forward to winning money or

prizes. Virginia also loves roses, especially yellow

roses. Roses remind her of a long lost love.

I asked Virginia what her secret for longevity is

and she said, "Going to bed early and getting up early." Virginia speaks

what is on her mind. We admire this very independent woman!
