Before getting started:

For usage purposes, I installed Jihosoft Android data recovery version 6.1(newest version) on windows 7.

The tested android phone was a Samsung Galaxy S5 running android 4.2.2.

Step 1.Launch the software and connect device to computer

Using the USB cable to connect android device to computer, then run Jihosoft Android Data Recovery. Keep the device connected until the recovery process is done.

You have 3 options to choose:

Multimedia - recover photos, videos, songs

Database - retrieve text messages, call history, and contacts.

Jihosoft Android Recovery will detect the android device automatically as long as your computer system detects the device and you have enabled USB debugging on your android. After that, simply click “Start” to begin scanning the device for the file types you chose.

Preview and Recover Data from Android Device

Wait for a couple of minutes for the scan process, when it is done, you can click the file one by one and preview them to check the data quality. Then select and mark the data you want to recover and hit the button “Recover” to get the lost data back.
