Reviewing Church Ministry & PoliciesWith the recent Supreme Court ruling in favor for providing same-sex marriage law, it is understood from the SC statements that additional challenges to opposing views will likely arise. Full Gospel Assemblies is calling for all ministries to review and take steps, if needed, for the protection and general clarification of ministry positions to; (1) update the ministry statement of faith to include positions on marriage, sexuality, gender, and moral conduct concurrent with the Word of God (2) require church employees & volunteers to sign agreement to statement of faith and standards of conduct, (3) develop a usage policy for church premises, and (4) update membership and marriage policies.

Growing Timothys

I am persuaded that when we heeded the Lord’s call, we were excited to be able to work for His kingdom. The emotion of being called, singled out, by the God of the universe and to be able to witness His power at work in and through ones ministry is an exuberant feeling. Dichotomously, we may have been thinking of all the sacrifices that will need to take place in order for this to be accomplished. I know this was true for me. However, the calling of God and being obedient to His will outweighed the sacrifices to be made. It is only through the carrying out of the ministry that you truly learn how sacrificial of a life it indeed is. In 2Timothy 2:8-13, Paul reminds Timothy that for the reason of preaching Christ risen from the dead (resurrection) he is suffering, bound with chains as if he were a criminal. Paul does not wallow in his precarious situation because he is quick to point out to Timothy that the gospel, however, cannot be bound by chains. He is thoroughly convinced of the power of God’s word to reach the lost in spite of his incarceration. Paul is willing to sacrifice his life and endure everything for the sake of the elect (brethren), that they may also obtain salvation (vs. 10). The words of the Apostle Paul are a reminder to us that we will surely see some ugly days in ministry, but the Sovereign King is still on the throne and He will be glorified. Timothy is being reminded of the difficulties and sacrifices made when in ministry, but also of the faithfulness of God in every circumstance of life. (vs. 11) The saying is trustworthy, for: if we have died with Him, we will also live with Him; (vs. 12) if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He also will deny us; (vs. 13) if we are faithless, He remains faithful – for He cannot deny Himself. Our Timothy’s must be cognizant of the sacrificial life they will walk in, but also aware of the prize Christ Jesus has laid before us in glory with Him!

FG Philippine Team to Extend Ministry Outreach to Davao, Philippines

Beginning August 7th through August 30th, Pastora Marissa Strauser will join the Alliance of FG Churches - Philippines leadership for ministry across three main islands in representation of Full Gospel Assemblies. Evangelistic and family ministry along with pastoral & leadership training, will be the focus with visits to St. Nino PBC church (Pastora Juliet Badong), Taysan FG Church (Pastora Melit Gabion), Hope of Glory Church, Capiz (Pastor Allan DeOcampo, and Hope of Glory Ministries, Calumba (Pastora Cecyll Clarito).

Then extending the footprint of evangelism and training, the team will cross over into Mindinao island. They will enter through the city of Davao, for pastoral training and revival services with the rural & provincial churches. Hosting Pastor Lanny Aboloc. describes the 64 Davao and Visayas region congregations as hungry for the gospel and in need of training for the work of the Lord! Truly the field is ripe for the harvest. Let us pray for the the laborers and equipping of the saints.
