---Extent to which the candidate and the
project will help to advance the program
aim of promoting mutual understanding
among nations.
---Ability of the supervising agencies abroad
to arrange supervision.
---Requirements of programs in individual
countries. In many countries, only
advanced degree candidates may apply,

---Ratio between the number of awards offered in
a given country and the number of applications
received. Therefore, if your project can be
accomplished in a less competitive country, your
chances for success in the competition will be
enhanced by applying in the less stringent country
competition.
---Desirability of achieving wide institutional and
geographic distribution.
---Other qualifications being equal, veterans
receive preference.

What’s Next?If you are interested, you apply for the scholarship in your junior
(or senior) year. There will be a workshop in April for those applying for the next round of scholarships
In the meantime, it is imperative that you begin the following:
● Decide which country you wish to study in
● Undertake language study (the scholarship expects you to have the ability to participate fully as a student in that country)
● Establish contacts with professors here (for reference letters and advice)
● Learn as much as you can about the country you have chosen (following international news, history, culture, etc)
● The campus due date is usually early-mid September every year. Please plan accordingly!
