When you put the key in contact and key rotates at the second time the Starter go engaged with flywheel causes it to rotate which causes the Crank shaft and timing belt to rotate and causes Fuel pump to rotate

uses a lot of fuel especially in idlingdue to loss of fuel in cold start as some of fuel become volatile and don’t burn
more emissions produce
Advantage of Injection
inject the amount of fuel needed according to engine operations

atomization because the air fill the spaces between fuel molecules so most fuel molecules will be burnt and will increase the burning effectiveness
according to the previous Injection preferred
