Frontier SCBA

The Frontier is an easy to use SCBA that far exceeds industrial standards while offering high flow rates and an economical price. The Frontier is as much as 40% less than other manufacturer’s SCBA products.

Frontier SCBAThe Avon-ISI Frontier is a simple, inexpensive design that is easy to use and has non-complicated components for ease of maintenance. The Frontier facepieces provide a 10,000 to 1 protection factor, delivering high flow rates to the facemask or hood with a positive pressure, on-demand, compact demand valve (CDV). The backframe is ergonomically designed for a comfortable fit and has easy to carry handles built in. The Frontier can accommodate cylinders rated at 2216 or 4500 psi (150 to 300 bars) with cylinder durations of 30, 45 or 60 minutes. The quick release cylinder band allows for easy exchange of cylinders of different durations. The Avon-ISI Frontier pressure reducer and CDV are proven patent designs from Avon-ISI that have been used for over twenty years. The pressure reducer uses a single stage piston that can be serviced within minutes. The CDV has three moving parts and can be easily serviced in the field or be economically replaced. The Avon-ISI Frontier has the lowest cost of ownership compared to any other SCBA (few replacement parts with a low cost to replace them). The Frontier is NIOSH approved and can be used in many different industrial applications where respiratory protection is required in non-fire related applications.

Compact Demand Valve (CDV)Avon-ISI’s CDV is a high flow regulator that delivers over 500 liters per minute flow rates. This rate far exceeds the NIOSH and NFPA breathing rates. Because of its size, there is a non-obstructive view through the facepiece. Docking the CDV into the facepiece is a simple screw in design. This allows for

easy docking and undocking of the CDV from the facepiece. The CDV is also available with a first breath feature for easier donning and less air waste. Just open the cylinder valve completely, don the facepiece, and inhale to activate the CDV. When removing the facepiece, push the button on the CDV to stop airflow and then remove the facepiece.

AirHoodThe positive pressure AirHood allows users with facial hair or glasses to enter an IDLH atmosphere and still comply with OSHA standards. The AirHood has a hard polycarbonate visor that allows for a distortion free viewing area. The sealing surface of the AirHood is around the neck area and comes in two different sizes to accommodate anyone. It is available in both polyurethane and PVC.

AirlineThe Frontier has an optional supplied air attachment that allows users to connect the Frontier to a remote supplied air source for extended durations. The airline is attached to the Frontier’s left waist strap and allows for a quick and easily accessed connection.

Buddy BreatherThe Frontier’s Buddy Breather system allows another user to plug their facemask into a belt mounted manifold when their cylinder is out of air.
