I hope everyone has been enjoying our trips and are ready for a busy August with the cruise to Gibb’s Country Store in Learned. Our drive for supper to the Cowboy Jim’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant month was a great trip with some really fine food as always. We had 12 Corvettes and 24 great Corvette folks on the trip. If you have any ideas for a trip bring it up at one of our club meetings. We are always looking for new places to go provided they have a good place to eat. We will be presented the check to Make A Wish during our September Club meeting from the MS Corvette Classic. Let’s try and have a big crowd for the event. Our club is steadily growing in size as we gained 25 new members this year. That is still a testament to good folks wanting to be

associated with other good Corvette folks. As you see folks driving Corvettes invite them to join our club. Our new website is still on track and progressing as planned. Hopefully we will have in on line within the next month or two. Whoever said “Money cannot buy happiness”, never owned a Corvette.”

Betty's uncle lives west of CS and he told me about a lady that had a couple of Corvettes and Jaguars she wanted to sell. Her husband had died a couple of years ago and she was ready to sell these. I went to look at them yesterday. They are under roof but open to the outside. The two Vets are a 95 and a 92. I believe the 92 is a TPI standard and the 95 an automatic. The Jags are I think around the same year and both 4 door six cylinder cars. One had original wire wheels on it. Everything was very dirty and mice and rats had been in most. All tires were flat on all vehicles. Any idea what these would be worth as a guess with little info available. None of them were what I would say as very nice or possibly even nice! But they were also covered in about an inch of dust and dirt. – Bill Price wpricecsms@gmail.com

both years! The car did awesome winning Best of Show, Best Custom, Best Paint

and was picked by Jeff LaMarche the Corvette Plant Manager as his "favorite"

car of the show!! Quite an honor for a Mississippi boy. Just thought you folks

would like to know the results at a National Corvette Show of one of your

own!!

Corvettes Return to Cowboy Jim’s

The Mississippi Corvette Club conducted its second cruise to Cowboy Jim’s Riverside Restaurant on 26 July 2014 with a drive through the back roads of Simpson, Covington, and Lawrence Counties once again led by Tom and Martha White. If you missed it you missed another of the great drives of all time with all the curvy roads. The weather could not have been better and the fellowship was tremendous. We had 12 Corvettes and 24 great Corvette folks participating in the event. The cruise started at Berry’s Seafood on Highway 49 and ended up at Cowboy Jim’s Riverside Restaurant. The scenery along the route was beautiful and all the curves were made just for Corvette driving. We arrived right on time and went straight into the restaurant to a waiting staff. The staff at Cowboy Jim’s seated us all together at one huge table in the back dining room sitting out over the Bouie River and treated us like Kings and Queens once again. The food was outstanding and the service could not have been better. The waitresses did not dress up in stars and stripes as we had hoped but all went well. Our return trip was back up Highway 37 to Highway 49 and home having been well fed and enjoying some great Corvette fellowship. By the time we were leaving we found out they had already posted pictures of our cars on their website with a note that “We love the MS Corvette Club.” They really appreciated our visit and let the world know about it.
