Announcement From the Office of Stewardship and Development

TRANSCRIPT

  • FROM THE OFFICE OF STEWARDSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT The 2016 Annual Catholic Appeal (formerly the Bishops Annual Appeal) will begin the weekend of October 17-18, 2015 with an audio message that Bishop Johnston will record for all parishes. You will receive a disk the week before the kickoff weekend and you will also have the option to download a file from the diocesan website. An e-mail will be sent to all pastors and business managers when the file is available for those who want to use that option. A complete schedule of activities related to the Annual Catholic Appeal will be provided to all parishes in the coming weeks. Also, Jake Livingston, Annual Appeal Coordinator, has begun contacting business managers, office staff or stewardship directors in parishes where registration databases are not in sync or available so he can obtain current census information including name, address and e-mail addresses. Your assistance to ensure that we have current data to get Bishop Johnstons message out to all parishioners is appreciated. As announced in The Catholic Key, St. Michael the Archangel High School has raised the required funds to obtain tax exempt bonds through Central Bank of the Midwest. The final monies to fund the Loan Reserve Fund have been received allowing construction to begin. Mohefa bonds proceeds will be available in early November but site preparation will begin as indicated, around the middle of October. Periodic updates will be provided to all parishes and schools and we ask that it be shared in your bulletin and where applicable through your parish email updates. We are still actively soliciting funds for chapel and other furnishings as well as for scholarships, debt reduction, additional wrestling and practice field enhancements. Your support is greatly appreciated.
