Oregon offers an abundance of great plants. And so, it’s only fitting that the 2014 Farwest Trade Show will offer an abundance of educational opportunities.

Every year, Farwest brings together authorities with wide-ranging expe-rience in all aspects of the green industry: from retail to production, greenhouses, landscape, municipali-ties and niche sectors such as public gardens and golf courses. Presenters explain what makes the industry tick, helping organizations position them-selves to take advantage of the eco-nomic recovery.

This year, some of the best and brightest names in the industry will be leading this year’s seminars, which will focus on business, plants, places to find inspiration and other topics of impor-tance to the nursery industry.

That’s in addition to our trade show, tours and social events, and it will all take place Thursday–Saturday,

Aug. 21–23, at the Oregon Convention Center in downtown Portland. The show is produced and presented by the Oregon Association of Nurseries.

Here are some of the leaders who will be speaking on this year’s Farwest Trade Show stages.

John Stanley is an industry consultant and award-winning entre-preneur. He has worked around the globe, analyzing trends to help clients stay ahead of their competitors amidst changing economic conditions.

Learn how to grasp opportuni-ties and profitably grow your busi-ness when Stanley addresses Farwest attendees as the keynote speaker on Thursday, Aug. 21. The keynote speech is free and will appeal to all horticul-tural businesses interested in growing short-term and future sales.
