Welcome to April! Exciting things have been happening at BASC! Our Country Breakfast Fundraiser was a huge success! Approximately 70 people attended, leaving with full bellies and rave reviews! Thank you to all the volunteers who worked so very, very hard to make this an unforgettable event.

As most of you have already seen, the center is getting a bit of a “face lift”! As with the change of seasons, BASC has undergone a few changes as well. Walls have been painted, adding a touch of color and beautiful furniture has been built by our woodworking class allowing us to utilize our space a bit better. Health & Wellness . . .

The Young At Heart Singers formed in February 2011 when I was

asked to start a small "singing for fun" group of 5 people who had asked

for a music class. It developed into what it is today, average 18

singers, and we try to have a goal to present programs twice a year to

various places: nursing homes, senior centers, assisted living facilities -

and anywhere we think we would be welcome!! Anyone can join - if you can

hold the book you are welcome!!!

I love this group. It has given me a way to use my music after having

a long term position (41 years!) as choir director at the Barre

Congregational Church. After my school retirement (34 years) I began

weekly playing the piano for sing alongs at Woodridge and Project

Independence which I still do. Everyone has music inside them - just

let it come out! I love this saying: "The Lord respects me when I work

- but he loves me when I sing!" Come join us on Tuesday afternoons at

1:00 and let us make music together!
