MembershipMatters Fall

2019

From the Desk of our CEO t is an exciting time to be a member of Piedmont Advantage Credit Union (PACU)! While there

will be more updates in future newsletters, I would like to share a few items with you now. Please keep in mind that as a member of the credit union, you are an owner and we are here to serve you! The investments we make in human resources, technology, or facilities, for example, have one common goal – to improve the financial lives of our member owners.

Many PACU members are taking advantage of the retirement Investment planning and Investment Services, available through CUSO Financial Services, L.P. (CFS*). In response to the success of the program and demand for more coverage, I am happy to announce that Fitz McMurry has joined the team as a CFS* Financial Advisor, covering the Mooresville and Charlotte markets, while Michelle Kimmer has joined the team as a CFS* Financial Assistant. Michael Westbrook, our CFS* Senior Financial Advisor and Director of Piedmont Advantage’s Financial Wellness, along with Fitz and Michelle, look forward to working with you and your family to help achieve your financial planning goals. Whether it’s college education, retirement, or some other financial objective,

Dion Williams, CFP®, MBA President / CEO

let us know how we can help!

If the window for saving for college has passed, there are other alternatives – we offer student loan solutions through a partnership with Sallie Mae. Visit us on the Web at www.PACU.com to learn more (click on the ‘Invest’ tab, then ‘Plan for College’). The Members Come First Scholarship for High School Seniors is available for members. Again, visit our website for more information.

Another objective of many members is being free of debt. A mortgage payment is one of the largest expenses a household faces. Your credit union has a solution – the Liberty Loan! A ten-year term, coupled with a low fixed interest rate and low closing costs, paves the way to quickly build equity and own your home free and clear. Again, your credit union is here to be your financial partner for life and help achieve your goals.

I cannot emphasize enough how much the input and participation of the member owners of Piedmont Advantage means to the success of

the financial cooperative. We are conducting a member survey this fall. If you receive an invitation to participate, please do so as your feedback will provide valuable insight to guide our strategic planning for years to come. Also, please know that your input is always welcome, whether it’s a formal survey, a phone call, or a discussion at a branch office. This is your credit union and we are here for you!

Thank you once more for the opportunity to serve you. We appreciate your business and promise to work tirelessly on your behalf in all that we do.
