I know our Cruisemaster will be announcing the dates for our spring and summer plans shortly. Upcoming Events• Monday, March 18, 2013 - Squadron Nights
MOVIE NIGHT!Join us for a viewing of short (2-6 min) boating videos. We’ll watch a leisurely afternoon cruise, an unusual boat launch, a breathtaking capsize and rescue, the ingenious contraptions a live-aboard sailor has jigged on her sailboat, and lots more. Some of the movies will provoke discussion, and all of them will entertain. Bring your own popcorn, and we’ll see you at the movies!
• Saturday, April 13, 2013 - Bilgewater BashGet your tickets before they sell out! A magical evening of music, dancing, dining, and confabulation (not to mention sipping the famous bilgewater). See page 4 for all the details.
• Monday, April 15, 2013 - Squadron Nights - Details coming!
• Monday, May 13, 2013 - BBQ & AGMPlease note that due to the long weekend, the BBQ and AGM will be held on the 2nd Monday instead of the 3rd Monday of the month.
Past, current and incoming Power Squadron members are all welcome at Squadron Nights, held on the third Monday of each month. We meet at the False Creek Yacht Club on the north shore of False Creek under the Granville Street Bridge. The doors open at 7:00 pm, the event begins at 7:30 pm, and the cost is $5.00 per person. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our Spring courses are all underway with Boating Basics now complete and Boating Essentials (new), Advanced Piloting, Marine Radio, and Instructor Development in progress.
Several of our members enjoyed volunteering at the Vancouver International Boat Show and I under-stand it went very well. They allowed me to slip away to the Caribbean where I spent some nine days with my son on his
sailboat as we cruised the wonderful and windy Virgin Islands, Dutch West Indies, and the French West Indies (St. Barts.)
Looking forward to our next mystery program on Squadron Night, Monday, March 18th at FCYC. Then our famous Bilgewater Bash is coming up on April 13th at RVYC. Hope to see you there!
