Perhaps due to stories she had heard about unsavoury practices in the building industry, Caitlyn was once convinced that tradespeople tended to “cut corners to maximise profits”. But that was before she met the LDA team and Dean Arnot, her personal LDA Project Consultant.

From the initial meeting, Caitlyn was struck by LDA’s professionalism: “I had met up with several builders up to that point, and by comparison, found the LDA team very well prepared and accommodating. While they took our requests very seriously, they also made practical suggestions that we hadn’t previously thought of – their vast knowledge in healthcare set-ups was clearly evident.”

Dr Quang Dao’s Specialist Clinic, as part of the team of surgeons at the Sydney Bone and Joint Clinic, relocated to the

Liverpool Day Surgery building late last year. The LDS Building in Chipping North features an impressive suite of state-of-the-art facilities, boasting 4 operating theatres and a 23-bed first stage recovery. place from August to October, during which time Caitlyn was able to focus on running the business as practice manager at the former location. “With Dean coordinating the entire project, the Levitch team pretty much took care of everything. This included gaining access to the building, dealing with various suppliers, organising delivery and installation of X-ray boxes, customising examination beds and working around the limitations of the existing space.”

“These were all professionally executed in addition to their main contributions: Coming up with an awesome interior design, implementing a well-conceived layout and delivering a beautiful renovation. They delivered an end-to-end solution which in turn made the whole project a stress-free experience for my husband and I.”It helped too that the Project Manager Glen Stapley remained communicative throughout the process, Caitlyn

attests: “Dean was very prompt about updating me on the progress and made it a point to get my go-ahead if there were any unforeseen changes to the original plan.”

At first apprehensive about the limited floor space – considering Dr Dao’s disfavour for tight work spaces and the couple having to settle for a smaller unit due to unavailability – Caitlyn was relieved by LDA’s thoughtful physical layout and smart employment of space optimisation techniques.

The Specialist’s spacious 4m x 5m consultation room optimised ingenious use of available space via hidden cabinetry and under-seat storage. Inviting oodles of natural light in through massive windows and day/night blinds made the generous space look even bigger and more welcoming.

Asked for her favourite part of the renovation, Caitlyn is torn between the classy reception area, which she likens to a “loungy living space or foyer of a hotel lobby”, and the massive staff room cum pantry in which many boisterous communal meals have been shared. “We have received so many compliments on the staff room alone, some coming from visiting staff from other practices. They often tell us how envious they are that we all get to dine together as a team.”

“We are proud of the renovation and never regretted the decision to go with Levitch Design Australia. Though not the cheapest, they certainly deliver great value for the investment.”
