JIM LEWIS SERVES

James H. Lewis, Jr., newly ap- pointed Royal Rangers Commander of The North Texas District served as an instructor at the National Train- ing Camp in Springfield, Mo. last June. After serving faithfully as the Deputy District Commander for Fort Torth, he is now serving the entire North Texas District.

New Ranger Outpost.... HOME FROM NATIONAL TRAINING CAMP

Three leaders of the Brazos Coun- cil had the privilege of attending the National Royal Rangers Training Camp at Estes Park, Colorado. Sam Harward, Lowell Har,Ndrd, and myself represented the Fort 'north area as trainees.

Ne can report an excellent camp with a most interesting and vigorous program of activities. ":e received instruction in soul winning, boy's problems, how to conduct a successful out-post meeting, nature study, first aid, lashing, knotts, rope splicing and whipping, axe care, and compass course.

A highlight of tree camp was an overnight back pack trip to a moun- tain peak overlooking the base camp and the valley below. It was a rug- ged climb and the view was breathtak- ing% The group received additional experience in pitching a camp on rug- ged terrain, and preparing meals from, freezer dried food specially formula- ted for pack trips.

Morning devotions, campfire cere- monies, and an impromptu evening de- votional on the mountain peak added a fitting spiritual atmosphere to the entire camp. 7e feel that we have been enriched by these most exhilara- ting, exhausting, and challenging ex- periences. Ile would be most happy to share our observations and knowledge with you and your group. Let us know how we may best serve you.

Rev. Victor OS1rom Deputy District Cdr.

Bellview Assembly of God has re- cently applied for a Pioneer charter. Carl Kellog is the Commander. Rev. C. L. Barnett, pastor.

A tomcat and tabby were court- ing on the back fence when the tom- cat leaned over to her and said, "I'd die for you, you beautiful thing."

The tabby gazed at him longingly and asked: "How many times?"

1 point not to the heathen youth;

Across the world so wide.

Nor to delinquent and skidrow youth;

So near on every side.

Our own sometime grow very hard;

Depleted, agnostic, and infidel.

Twill be but by the grace of God;

We save their souls from hell.

I'll give my time to my mission field;

My resources, blessing, and love.

I'll do my best to increase its yield;

Youth's harvest for heaven above.
