LAC REPORT JANUARY 2016Thank you to everyone for their help and support in running our Home Gala. It takes many volunteers and officials but we couldn’t do it without the swimmers and we were again inundated with entries from clubs around the country. Our club achievements were as follows: 11 Gold medals for Isabel Iley 3, Rhianna Lee Pagan, Ibrahim Shamyl, Sean Curley 3, Joe Munden 2, and Jack Munden. 8 Silver Medals for Michael Stanway, Amy Allison, Christopher Richardson, Neha Pillai, Rhianne Lee Pagan, Stephanie Pagan, Ibrahim Shamy and Isabel Iley and 6 Bronze medals for Joe Munden, Stephanie Pagan 2, Abigail Dawson 2 and Michael Stanway. The most important statistic is that our Gators swimmers today improved their entry times to achieve a new personal best in 87 of their swims. We are already planning and looking forward to our next gala on July 17th – Get involved and Go Gators!

Our squad and development swimmers have been busy competing over the last few months at the following galas:Redbridge Last Chance county qualifier Meet 19th and 20th December22 Golds, 23 Silvers, 16 Bronze, 15 in 4th place, 14 in 5th place and 8 in 6th place. We won 98 medals from 163 possible races. We didn’t manage to bring back the wining club sword as we cam a respectable second to Romford Town nevertheless it was a marvellous weekend of swimming for the Gators.Thurrock 12th and 13th December25 golds, 15 Silvers, 14 bronze, 11 in 4th place, 15 in 5th place and 13th in 6th place. A total of 93 medals achieved from 141 races. More importantly were the numerous PBs and Essex County qualifying times achieved. Dartford and Erith Halloween Gala 31st October and 1st November 16 golds, 12 silvers, 21 bronzes, 38 swimmers came 4th, 5th and 6th place. 87 medals from 113 individual races. 74 races in which swimmers improved on their entry time to achieve new personal bests (PBs).For those who like a percentage Gators swimmers achieved a medal in 77% of their races entered and achieved a PB in 65% of the races entered. These results are down to the dedication of our swimmers, the top quality coaching and the wonderful support and encouragement of our Gators parents… (who do all the driving, feeding, cheering and laundry!)

REDBRIDGE EASTER GALA

Contact us at [email protected]

Congratulations on another fabulous weekend from our splendid Gators swimmers over an impressive two separate galas. This Easter weekend the club had swimmers competing at Basildon and also at the Redbridgegala.

My report comes from Redbridge where we had 34 swimmers from squad and development swimming with an unprecedented 13 swimming their first competitive external gala for the club. All our young swimmers were brave, determined and extremely well disciplined showing the club at its best so that overall they achieved new personal best performances in 85% of their swims overall.

As for all important medals the results are as follows: -

Gold – Jack Munden, Eva Murray, Ibrahim ShamylSilver – Sean Curley x 2, Rhianna-Lee Pagan, Ibrahim Shamyl, Jack MundenBronze – Jack Munden, George Chapman and Sean Curley x 6.4th place – Eva Murray, J Munden, Rhianna-Lee Pagan, Sean Curley and Liam Higgins5th place – Lucy Stanway, Ibrahim Shamyl, Drew Clark, Faye Curley, Michael Stanway x 3, William Dunne-Sarte6th place – Faye Curley, Samuel Dawson x 2, Joe Munden, Olivia Walsh, Eva Murray

Medals matter but it was really the truly outstanding number of personal best times that impressed.

Many thanks go to all the swimmers, but also to the parents and to our Head Coach, Gavin Povall who attended all weekend.Particular gratitude goes to Claire Morris, Michelle Curley and Karen Pagan for volunteering their time as officials. The club is obliged to contribute officials in order for the swimmers to be permitted to race so without these kind hearted, hard working parents none of the above would have been possible.

Annual Presentation Evening 2015

Our Wonderful Gators Swimmers!

www. bwfsc-gators.org.uk

On a chilli night in December BWFSC held their Annual Awards Presentation evening and a brilliant time was had by all. Its so important to recognise the hard work, determination and commitment that our young swimmers display throughout the year. The evening is a chance to reward every swimmer in

the club that participates at our Club Champs, galas, Essex Champs, Regional Champs and finally at National level. What a super confident and talented bunch. Well Done To ALL!

More pictures on the website soon.!

A small gift was handed to Ken on the night & he deserves a special mention. He has worked very hard as a volunteer coach in our development section for numerous

years, always cheerful and willing to step in when needed. Without people like Ken it would be much more difficult to run a successful swimming club. So a BIG thank you

from the Gators team.A HUGE thank you to Marianne, without whom we would not really have had a presentation evening. Many thanks also to the volunteers and parents who all

contributed to making the night a success.
