Friendship Times
Welcome to Issue 3 - 2016 of the Friendship Times.
Unfortunately, we currently do not have an Editor for our bi-monthly magazine due to theresignation of our founding editor Ray at our May meeting. I would like to take this opportunity tothank Ray for all the work he put into producing the Association Newsletter. I am sure like manyothers you have enjoyed reading these quality articles.
Our last meeting was the Annual General Meeting held in the park opposite St. Matthew's Churchin Windsor. Fourteen members were in attendance. As this was our Bi-Annual A.G.M. the electionof Officers were held. Congratulation to all members who accepted positions. We look forward toyour guidance of the Association over the next two years.
Membership Drive. A suggestion was made that we encourage new members to join our group. Ifyou are or you know someone who is a descendant of Edward PUGH and Hannah SMITH wewould like you to join us. Details are available on our website on how to join or you may send anenquiry to our Secretary. You may be able to assist us with information we are unaware exists.
Our next meeting will be held in Taree on the 12 November. This meeting is always our Christmassocial event. Many members coming to Taree take the opportunity to have a weekend away. If youcan't make it for the weekend still try and attend. Taree is just 4 hours away from Sydney.
I hope you enjoy reading our newsletter. If you wish to submit an article please send to theSecretary for inclusion in our next issue.
What are you researching at present? We would love to hear from you about your discoveries orwhat brick walls you may have encountered. Sometimes we select a person's record and on furtherinvestigation we are able to completely disregard that person as not belonging to our line. Do youhave a similar experience you wish to talk about. We are all interested in compiling correctinformation on the Descendants of Edward and Hannah. Without your assistance this can be adifficult task. A small breakthrough on just one ancestor may assist others in completing a line thathas been unsolved. We all work from different angles therefore it is helpful to discuss yourproblems or breakthroughs with like minded researchers.
Members Olga and Ray were good enough to share their own research with us on both SamuelBrownett and Ann Garside Family lines. Are you unsure about information out in cyberspaceregarding these family? Here is what they discovered (along with other members) and are willing toshare amongst Association members and the wider community to assist in establishing correct data.

Note: From Heather Brownett
"The information that I posted on the IFHAA site back in 1998/1999 re Samuel Browne ex "Lord Sidmouth"from Belfast seems to have been disproven since then.
At the time I was very new to family history research and was going by the information that had beenpassed onto me by various people.
The site has been inactive since 2006 and the post cannot be altered or removed."
